🌸HELP NEEDED – PLEASE SHARE!🌸
Mother’s Day is fast approaching, and once again, we are putting together very special gift bags for the incredible NICU mums spending this emotional day alongside their critically ill newborns in the Grace Centre for Newborn Intensive Care and Westmead NICU at The Children's Hospital at Westmead.
This initiative is so close to our hearts. 17 years ago, our beautiful miracle girl, Dimi, was born on Mother's Day — a day I will never forget. This year is extra special, as Dimi’s birthday actually falls on Mother's Day itself.
We remember all too well what it feels like to become a mum in the NICU. It's a time filled with love, fear, hope, and uncertainty. These mums are incredibly brave, and we want to make sure they feel loved, seen, and celebrated — even if they can’t be at home.
We’re aiming to create 65 gift bags, filled with beautiful, comforting treats to help brighten their day. We’d be so grateful for your help—either through donating items or sharing this post far and wide.
This year, we’re so lucky to have the beautiful Stacey Davis join us in helping bring this all together. Stacey is also a former Grace NICU mum, and we are so thankful for her kindness and support in sourcing donations.
Here’s how you can help:
We’re looking for **brand new, unopened** items including:
🌸 Hand creams
🌸 Body lotions
🌸 Perfumes
🌸 Lip balms
🌸 Chocolates
🌸 Magazines or novels
🌸 Puzzle books
🌸 Journals
🌸 Slippers
🌸 Mindfulness or colouring books (plus pencils)
🌸 Any other small gifts that would lift a mum’s spirits
🌸 We’re also reaching out to:
– to help with a small bunch of flowers or potted plant for each mum
– for individually wrapped cookies or cupcakes
or – who may be able to help provide a small grazing box or light lunch
🌸 All donations need to be received by Thursday 8th May so we can pack and deliver in time for Mother's Day.
If you’d like to be a part of this special initiative, please comment below, DM, or call me on 0414 372 670.
