I’ve been absent on socials of late. When wedding season is in full swing, posting online goes to the very bottom of the priority list. I know I should do better - it’s essential for business and all that, but to be completely honest, I don’t love doing it. It is a necessary evil that I do not enjoy. I’d much rather be working in my business (focusing on my couples doing actual celebrant stuff) than running a slick social media account. So here’s a little peek behind the scenes at what I’m actually doing when I’m not posting here.

Over the past few months I’ve seen sun, rain and hail. I’ve met your parents and your pooches. I’ve received gifts and goodies (thank you!). I’ve travelled north, south, east and west and married couples on every day of the week.

Is it exhilarating? Yes!

Am I exhausted? Also yes!

But you know what keeps me going? Receiving your kind words, your thoughtful reviews and browsing through your photo galleries. Thank you!

I have an inbox full of them to share… eventually.

But honestly, Spring 2025 has been one of the best and it’s not over yet!

I will tell your unique story, pass you a tissue when you shed a tear, stand by your side, hold the mic if your hands shake as you make your vows. I will hold your bouquet, hand you a pretty pen and show you where to sign. And, I’ll send you on your way, into your celebrations, and your future, on the highest of highs!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I will share all my experience of over a decade of weddings in the lead up to your day. I will give you all the tips, advice and insight I’ve learned over the years. I will make sure you feel confident rocking up to your wedding knowing what’s going to happen - who, when, where, how and why - so you can relax and really be present in the moment. And if all that information goes right out the window the minute your ceremony begins - your mind goes blank and you don’t remember a single thing I’ve told you - it doesn’t matter, because I’m right there by your side, guiding you every step of the way, whispering directions and words of support. I’ve got you.

Words and phrases recent couples have used to describe how they want their wedding to feel…

- sincere
- comfortable (so simple but so important)
- relaxed
- genuine
- not showy
- not gimmicky
- inclusive
- authentic
- easy
- romantic
- good as hell

I love them all! And when I hear couples use words like these on our first intro call I just know we’re going to click. ✨

VICKI & BEN / 16.8.25 💕

They met at work during a freak storm. Ben was Vicki’s emergency contact and one night there were a lot of emergencies. Throughout it all, Ben kept his cool and had Vicki’s back every step of the way. Together they navigated through the chaos, problem solved Theo way through each crisis and by the end of the night, a connection had been made.

On a beautiful winter’s afternoon they tied the knot in the Botanic Gardens with Sydney Harbour behind them, their friends and family in front of them and me by their side as their wedding celebrant.

A gorgeous couple who deserve every happiness! ✨

The surprise, delight and perfect chaos of a backyard birthday party that turned into a wedding with the removal of a fence panel and some amazingly supportive (and secretive) neighbours.

El and Nic’s friends and families through they were attending Nic’s 50th birthday party at their home. Little did they know, next door prep for a wedding was taking place.

Nic, El and their kids snuck next door to get changed and then their amazing neighbours removed a panel from the fence and ushered the guests through - pushing glasses of champagne into their hands as they laid their eyes on the deck adorned with fairy lights and set up for… a wedding!

This wedding was so personal because it was just Nic and El being entirely themselves, with their people in a setting where they felt so comfortable. We had kids and dogs running through the ceremony and Nic and El wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

Not even a ‘bomb cyclone’ could stop Courtney and James from saying “I do” in the breathtaking Rock Cathedral at Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat last month.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Did we get a little wet? Absolutely.
Did it matter? Not for a second.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These two have already weathered life’s biggest storms together (including the loss of James’ mum only weeks before their wedding) so a little rain was not going to dampen their spirits.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Their ceremony really was a roller-coaster of emotion and hit me hard in the feels. It was heartwarming and heart wrenching in equal measure - I will always remember this ceremony. Seeing the joy on their faces in the photos is so life-affirming - they deserve every happiness. ✨

Today is Dying to Know Day – a national campaign that encourages open and honest conversations about death, dying and grief. It’s about improving our death literacy and getting more comfortable talking about something that affects us all.

So it feels like the right time to share some news…

I’m now offering funeral and memorial celebrant services, alongside my work in weddings.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I first became a celebrant, funerals weren’t on my radar. But then I started attending conferences and workshops, meeting people doing truly meaningful work in the end-of-life space – and it completely shifted my perspective.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I realised that the same skills I use to create personal, heartfelt wedding ceremonies could also support families navigating loss. That I could help honour lives with the same care, warmth and storytelling I bring to every ceremony.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Back then, my kids were little and I wasn’t ready. But over the years, I’ve been quietly saying yes when people asked. I’ve continued learning, deepening my understanding, and growing into this space.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And now, I’m ready.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Whether you’re planning a funeral, memorial, celebration of life or something in between – I’ll work with you to create a ceremony that feels personal, meaningful and true to the person at the heart of it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you ever need someone to hold space and help tell the story of a life with honesty, humour and heart – please keep me in mind.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And if you’re looking for a funeral director or an end-of-life doula, I can point you towards some truly wonderful people doing incredible work in this space.

From a first date at Westfield Miranda to a rooftop proposal at Mirabelle in Rome, and then, this.

Jack and Nick were married in the intimate book-lined Shakespeare Room at the State Library, with just their parents present.

As their wedding celebrant, I had the joy of telling their story, guiding them through their vows, and then introducing them as newlyweds to the group of loved ones who had gathered excitedly outside on the sandstone steps. Cheers, tears and hugs ensued and then off they all went to celebrate.

So much love for this day. 💕

Bec met James in the kitchen of her share house. She was definitely not expecting to meet her future husband that night, but one witty convo about US politics later and sparks were flying. She refused to give him her number because she wanted to stay focused on her studies (classic), but a few days and one wine glass emoji later (James had found her on Facebook), they were on their first date which ended with them sitting in a plastic boat in the Hollis Park playground in Newtown talking into the early hours of the morning.

That date became known as “Boat Day” and turned into late-night chats, love in lockdown, and eventually a very teary YES back in the exact same park.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When the day came to say “I do” I was lucky enough to be their marriage celebrant and tell their story. Here’s what they had to say about it...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Andrea crafted the perfect wedding ceremony for us - we could not be happier. The ceremony was heartfelt, personal and relaxed. Andrea was proactive in guiding us through the pre ceremony preparation and kept us feeling completely at ease. She is so calm, supportive and well organised. We could not recommend her more for any couple looking for a celebrant who truly wants to make their day special.” - James & Bec

Congrats again James and Bec! Good luck, you’ve got this. 😉

None of these people are me. None of these people are even celebrants - they’re friends, cousins, siblings of the couple and they all performed their loved ones’ ceremonies (with a little help from you know who).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There’s something incredibly powerful about being married by someone who really knows you. The person who’s seen your relationship grow from the beginning. Who’s been there for the big moments and the everyday stuff. Who feels what this day means - not just for you, but for everyone who loves you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And while they’re delivering all the personal magic, I’m just off to the side - handling the legals, guiding things along, and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s raw, it’s real, and it hits everyone right in the feels. It’s a personal touch with pro support.
