Gig: Vivid at The Rocks

dplr created the environmental lighting overlay for The Rocks during Vivid Sydney 2025, illuminating heritage buildings and gardens in a wash of orange, pink, purple and blue.

The area was filled with live musicians and DJs each night, with people filling the streets for The Rocks Market on the weekends.

dplr worked closely with the place activation team and the business owners of the area to install our fixtures in a discreet way, while highlighting the beautiful heritage features of buildings in the Vivid colour palette.

Gig: Adidas Climacool Launch for JD Sports

Rumblings from under the city for a very special Adidas x JD Sports launch of CLIMACOOL

Our set up included CHAUVET Professional Cooler Strike Ms, Maverick Mk2 profiles, Outcast 1 Beamwash, Rogue R2X wash and PXL 16 bars, Grand MA3 Light, d&b audiotechnik d&b Y Series speaker system, and ROE Vanish V8, with some tricky hazer work to project the brand logos.

dplr provided an intelligent power solution for this project, with our Solar2Go generators providing stable distributed power throughout the activation.

Gig: Bring It On Fairfield

Wholesome flashback to the Bring It On! Youth Festival, produced by Fairfield City Council and Dyss Events., a street festival of music, dance and art organised for and by young people. The dplr team took our eager volunteers through the basics of lighting, audio and cabling, before the stage was set to showcase talented local bands and musicians.

Thanks to Dyss Events for bringing us on board, to Fairfield City Council for producing this delightful event, and to our wonderful teachers Andy, Callum, Teagan and Dave for taking the time to get back to basics and induct the next generation into what goes into making a gig happen.

Gig: Tumbalong Nights - Vivid Sydney

dplr has returned to Sydney Zoo for the annual light festival GLOW.

Our team curated a theatrical walk-through experience, starting at the entrance with projections of the animal residents inside, colourful LED fixtures along internal pathways and special effects moments to showcase the beautiful lanterns hidden around each corner.

The key highlight of ours can be found at the centre of the zoo, blending lasers and projection in an immersive light show amongst the live animals, coupled with a mesmerising soundtrack from indigenous artist Nathan Peckham (Yurana Creative).

Big props to the technical team led by Andrew Masterton and Jesse Kooraram on executing the vision. We think it’s the best year yet.

GLOW goes on until May 31st

Gig: LIV Golf Adelaide – The Ripper House

LIV Golf has fast become a highlight on Adelaide’s cultural calendar, and in February this year, we were proud to support The Ripper House activation as part of the event.

Produced by EVH and McMILLAN MGMT, our team at dplr delivered full technical direction and a custom package including sound, staging, fixed and moving lights, and a striking LED wall, all operated on site by our crew.

Weave is an incredible organisation empowering First Nations communities through services, programs and events, and dplr were pleased to be involved in the South East Block Party in Maroubra, produced by the legendary Kobie Dee and supported by Randwick City Council.

Our team seamlessly managed performances from Kobie Dee, King Stingray, Flewnt & Inkabee, Zipporah, Lil Arts, Wali Diid & TAYWAY, Akilaqui and the Weave Kool Kids Program.

Well done to the entire team of community legends 🙌
