• everytime I see my own flowers featured in my bouquets, all the hours spent growing them seem to melt away. My organic Cafe Au Lait dahlias amongst flowers grown by Australian farmers 🌿

• I can't begin to tell you the pure joy and excitement Courtney and I both felt while we were talking about her wedding blooms. She wanted something vintage feeling. Soft, romantic and angelic.

I absolutely adored working with them and their smiles on the day (while I was looking quite disheveled) warmed my heart!

• the Royal Botanical Gardens is such a beautiful place for a couple of love birds to get married. So many visually dynamic spots. So much vintage romance.

• Courtney & Nathan's arch was large and organic, with floral growing from the ground to make it feel extra lush. The shape was free flowing and gardeny. The eleagnus and rose foliage created a romantic, nostalgic feel. The autumn blooms like dahlias, tulips, garden roses and Easter daisies (100% Australian grown!) were clustered in mini colour palettes to form a dreamy feast for the eyes. The shape complimented the shape of the stunningly vintage Palm House in the Botanical Gardens.

Creating this baby was so much fun, it's one I'll adore forever. ☀️

• I've been recieving many emails from brides and grooms wanting local, Aussie blooms. And can I say, that makes me so happy! That more and more people are becoming concious of sustainability for one of their most important days!

Creating seasonal designs, with local Australian blooms is always welcomed and look absolutely beautiful and authentic.

3 varieties of these flowers were hand picked by me at a flower farm 1 hour away from me, 1 variety was picked from my own garden, and the rest were from NSW & VIC flowers farms picked at 5am at the flower markets in Sydney. 🌼

• autumn, I struggle to find a more beautiful, romantic time of year - it's earths last gasp of energy before Winter comes. Flowers don't have to fight the heat so hard to stay alive and berry branches are everywhere.

Colours become muddier and colour palettes with golden, salmon tones work best.

Flowers start to become more elegant and airy again like Easter daisy and chocolate cosmos. They float around larger flowers like dahlias and roses.

And of course the foliage, autumn leaves come in magical tones that flowers don't often come in. Yellow and time toned leaves have a quality that yellow and pink coloured flowers don't have. A fleeting beauty that's unique to the season itself.

• cloud stands by two floating arrangements which create a understated but super magical scene for your ceremony... add a few extra low arrangements or big pots and you've just transformed it into a luxurious vibe with lots of texture and dimention. What's great about these, is that they can be easily moved to the reception area! Love my cloud stands ☁️☁️

• currently dividing my Cafe Au Lait dahlias for the next growing season. These fluffy, creamy blooms were cut the morning of the wedding from my micro farms and put straight in water to hydrate so they were super fresh for their big show. And it starts from cutting dirty looking potatoes in the cold season ❄

• in Summer, the Earth is at its fullest. Everything grows a but more wild, the bright colours of Spring have worn off and the deeper, sophisticated tones of Summer reign. The different shades of greenery are abundant too.

Dahlias and roses are lush and boastful. Smaller flowers like flannel flower paired with golden grasses make the perfect match. All these flowers come in so many different colours, any palette is on the table.

• I see this image of Pip & Jake's early autumn ceremony and one memory trail comes to mind. Pip and I spoke about using bouganvillea from the very start. Bouganvillea is such a fickle flower and is notorious for wilting. They don't always have super structured flowering periods either as they are very weather dependent! I was determined to use it, I had my plan set out and structures in place to keep the queen boug as hydrated as possible. The afternoon before the wedding was the day I was going to a few sites to cut the flowering Boug, and I did, however I've never been so saturated and clobbered in my life. It poured almost 200 ml of rain that day and I don't need to say much else. But I don't think I'll ever forget the feeling of accomplishment placing those plump, psychedelic stems into the installations that day. So so worth it.⁣

• Pip & Jake's wedding day was during the wettest week in Sydney in over 100 years. Somehow, we got an hour of no rain, so we quickly move the wet weather plan outside and the weather pulled through JUST for their ceremony. ⁣

• Pippa ❤ seeing this beautiful gal glowing in her bridal photo just makes me melt. Being bold with your colour palette is so worth it and will make your florist so excited! I spent a few 5 a.m. mornings at the markets building this one and making sure the colours worked perfectly (the shade of dahlia was a particularly hard decision) and sourcing the rose foilage for my friend in Dural.⁣

• Everyone, I've been so excited to share this wedding with you! Pip & Jake are two of the coolest cats you'll meet. They wanted a mediterranean, Spanish fiesta vibe. Vibrant colours, roses, ceramics and terracotta vases and best (and most nail-biting) of all – bouganvillea. This is the lovers section of their foam free designed bridal table. There's more arrangements either side, candles and a big beautiful chunk of rose quartz stone.⁣

Our Story

🌿 The passion to create with nature has always been within me. River & Eve flora began as an organic cutting garden with my grandfather. In 2016, we started the micro flower farm, growing exquisitely unique and unusual varieties of flowers, herbs and foliage. The flowers were sold to floral designers all over Sydney and passers by in Gymea village. After being inspired by the women I was selling my flowers to, I began designing and this flourished into an even deeper love of flowers and the plants in which they emerge from. This little flower patch I worked so hard on has evolved into me creating romantic and artfully feminine floral designs for weddings, events and editorials. Now, the garden grows a few unique varieties that service River & Eve's wedding and event designs - bringing the garden indoors to create a magical atmosphere

The essence of River & Eve flora comes from the love of natural, seasonal beauty. Flower arrangements are composed of the most romantic and textural botanicals and are carefully chosen for quality and movement. The seasons are a huge influence for my work. I get inspired by the organic lines of flower stems, the transitions of colour on leaves and the beauty of imperfect flowers. I intuitively mimic natural environments to create wild installations to graceful bouquets.

Plants and their flowers are an expression in form of that which is formless; love.
