Sunday Fried Rice
Recipe for 2:
- 400g Steam Rice (fresh cooked or overnight)
- 200g Prawn
- 30g Oil
- 8g Salt
- 24g Soy Sauce
- 40g Carrot
- 40g Mushroom
- 40g Caulini
- 40g Kai Lan (Chinese Broccoli, only top part)
- 20g Garlic (about 4 cloves)
- Pinch of black pepper
- Pinch of baking soda
- 1 egg (1-2 egg is fine)

To make Sunday Fried Rice. Chopped Caulini, Kai Lam, Carrot, Mushrooms and set a side. Prawn, half cut on its back, added baking soda and a bit of oil and mixed well, did this so the prawn stayed fresh and crispy after cooked. Chopped up garlic. In this video, I used my leftover garlic. In a wok on medium heat, added a bit of oil, egg go in and stir until it just cooked, set a side. In the same wok, added a bit of oil, garlic stirred until it was slightly brown, added prawn and cooked until just cooked around 1-2 minutes then set aside. In the wok with some oil added garlic, again stirred until slightly brown added Caulini, correct, Kai Lan, Mushrooms, stirred until slightly cooked around 1-2 minutes, added rice, prawn, egg, salt, soy sauce and black pepper then gave it a good 2-3 minutes cooked until all very well combined. All done and enjoy.

We picked vegetables from local grocery as wholesale and bought whole pieces of meat then grounded ourselves. All fresh made and freezes straightaway.

Winter is usually cold but this year I feel cooler than other years. Is everyone has the same feeling?

For me, I only want a piece of cake and a cup of jasmine tea for my birthday to come. I know some of you might feel the same in this cold weather. So gathering might be a little slow down. Sounds like in every winter. However, if you are a company, a business if you still doing some celebrations we are here to help. Don’t hesitate to contact us.

When I finished my busy day in my cafe today. I took a closer look through my old posts and I found this one “All about me!!!”. I thought I would share this again. Sometimes, when I couldn’t think of anything, I knew it could be the time to go back to where I became and who I was.

All about me!!!
Cooking is a way of covering my history. My parents were the 2rd Chinese generations in Cambodia. Foods were complex when I grew up. We ate Chinese food as well as Cambodian food at the same time.

I was born just after the Khmer Rouge regime. The whole country was started from zero again. People were working hard for a living and our family was also the same. Mum and dad were working very hard in our groceries shop. At 9 years old, as an eldest child, I had a lot of responsibility. Learning how to cook from mum so I could help at home when she was in the shop. Doing full day school and came home to cook, clean and looking after my 2 months old baby brother. Life was heavy but we couldn’t complain because most people were the same in that time and I learned a lot from mum especially cooking.

When I came to Australia in 2009. I couldn’t find Cambodian food in many places. I missed all my hometown flavour a lot. So I cooked myself more at home for my Cambodian Chinese food.

Today I decide to tell my story through making all my favorite food for many celebrations. Without you I might not start this dream journey. Thank you so much.

First Anniversary!

In the kitchen, it might be hot, it might be messy, it might be time consuming from A-Z, it might be too much stuff to handle sometimes…etc but it is the only place where all the creativity, taste, experiment and a dish of food is made.
