Buzzin’ Coffee has now been passed onto its new owners who plan to have it as part of their farmyard business in Harrisville (Brisbanes West).
I wish them all the best in their mission to caffeinate their customers, & once again…, a HUGE “Thank you” to all my customers who supported my little venture to put smiles on people’s faces & provide a ‘hug in a cup’ over the last half of 2023.

New Year’s bring new decisions.

Whilst I’ve loved what I’ve done with creating Buzzin’ Coffee & meeting all the wonderful people I have in the past 6mths; I’ve decided to sell my cute little coffee trailer 🐝 ☕️ and allow someone to pursue their passion in owning & operating their own coffee cart, while I move onto new ventures.

My heartfelt “thank you” 🙏 to all of those who’ve supported my venture, & the “Thank You coffee” cause in someway along the way!

So, on Xmas day my daughter and I flew ✈️ to NZ to care for my 94yr old mother-in-law, and literally left about an hour before the tornado 🌪️ hit the area.

Whilst my area down the bottom of the mountain ⛰️ was hit somewhat….it was nothing compared to others nearby - and I’m thankful that my house & family/friends are all ok.

We flew home last night, and our power was restored this morning (thank you Energex 🙏- who are working tireless).

So today I took a drive up to Mt Tamborine to check on many friends up there and in Tamborine Village.

Wow. 😮
The devastation is unbelievable 🥺😞

Some friends have quite substantial damage to their homes 🏠 & it will be a big clean up and restoration, but their strength and kindness to others is admirable.

I know there were shouts out to local coffee vendors to come and supply coffees on the mountain- and seriously…..if I had been in the country I wouldn’t have hesitated.

I had thought about bringing Buzzin’ Coffee up to the mountain and giving out free coffees ☕️☕️☕️☕️ tomorrow, but after some thought - I’ve decided I won’t.
Why?….
Not because I don’t want to, but because there are businesses that have soldiered on- and are trying to operate their businesses all powered with generators.
Some with no lights on…. and just operating enough to do the best they can.
Many of these business owners live & work on the mountain, & I have no idea how badly they’ve been affected by this devastating event…. So basically I don’t want to take any business away from them. 🫶
Buzzin’ Coffee is a sideline business for me - and the last thing I would want to do is give freebies away to try and do something nice…. but yet it may damage someone else’s business.

Instead; I’ll support other small businesses by supporting them, & offer help where I can.

Don’t also forget that The Green Shed - Tamborine Mountain is still open Sundays 7-11am, and many local growers rely on local support to earn a bit of money by selling their produce / flowers / plants etc each week.

It’ll be a long road ahead - and the mountain still don’t have power yet, so as a local…. please support local. 🩷🙏

So I have been hoping to take Buzzin’ Coffee to Mt Tamborine QAS 🚑 - but the weather has been raining /storms ⛈️ this week.

Instead; I was up there doing a nursing job this morning- so popped in to see if anyone was there.

‘Pete & Siobhan’ were the only ones there today - and loved their “Thank You coffees” & notes of appreciation from my awesome customers, as well as some choccys 🍫 🫶🌟🙏!
Pete said he’s still got the lovely little note from last time! 🫶🙌 (awwe)!

I thought I’d scoot down to Canungra QAS 🚑, & do the same….but I think they may have been on ‘fatigue’ (sleeping 😴) - so I left them some notes & paid for some coffees at one of their local coffee shops for them for when they wake up 😁. ☕️☕️☕️☕️

Thank you to the amazingly generous people who have supported this initiative over the past several months…..you’re all stars ✨!

Merry Christmas to you all, and a big “Thank You” to all of our wonderful First Responders 🚓🚒🚑🚨 - especially if you’re working over the Xmas break🎄.

Such a healthy & vibrant 83yr old!! It must be all the amazing organic fruit & veges that she gets from there on a Sunday morning 🌟
(…and I may have got her hooked on ‘dirty chai’ coffees 😉😂)!
She snapped up these gorgeous sunflowers 🌻 & was so excited that there was some left!!

When Buzzin’ Coffee started just a few months ago as a ‘sideline’ little business, I had no idea that this is the direction that it would steer towards…..but it is!

It started off as a little ‘pay it forward’ for an Emergency Service worker, where customers would pay for a coffee for a Police/Fire/Ambulance officer 🚓🚒🚑🚨– as well as write a little note 📝 of appreciation and stick it in a jar 🫙. (I’m a former Paramedic….so I know how addicted we can be to our coffee)!

Well, my jar got full – and I wasn’t exactly in a spot where our frontline workers would go past that often….so I decided to go to them.

I knew one of my local Police Stations 🚓 had had a pretty rough few months, so I thought it was the perfect station to start off and try to bring some smiles to some faces 😁 for a few hours by making coffees ☕️ and allowing them to choose one of the notes 📝 of appreciation out of the jar 🫙.

It worked 🌟✅ ‼️.

The response was heartwarming to see, and it got me thinking….. “This is more than just about them receiving a free cup of coffee 🫶❤️.

✳️ It’s allowing them to feel appreciated, and that the tough job that they do – doesn’t go unnoticed.
✳️ It’s also allowing them to pause ⏸️, & connect 🤝 with their colleagues through having a chat 🗣️ over coffee ☕️.

It might seem small, but it could be a really BIG thing to them 🌟

It could also be extremely BENEFICIAL to them without them even knowing it!
Humans are born to connect 🔗💓 with each other 🫶.
What if…. over the course of that cup of coffee & a chat….that their colleague was to notice that they just didn’t seem like themselves (😒😔🥺), and were able to ask the question “Are you OK?” ❤️🤍💙

Did you know that the most recent statistics we have is from 2015, where every 6wks in Australia - 1 Emergency Service worker was suiciding? 😔🥺😪 🆘

Did you know that those statistics were based upon fulltime employees? It didn’t include part-time / casual / volunteer employees? 😔🥺😪

I don’t know about you…..but with the enormous stressors put upon our First Responders over the past few years of Covid – I could only imagine what those statistics are currently. 💔

I’m sure everyone reading this has some sort of connection to an Emergency Service worker 🚓🚒🚑🚨

❣️I have a brother-in-law who’s a Police Officer 👮‍♂️

I’m sure EVERYONE knows someone in the profession.

They are ALL someone’s Mother / Father / Sister / Brother / friend / Grandparent / Aunty / Uncle / loved one. 🧑🏼👩🏽‍🦱🧑🏻‍🦱👨🏽‍🦱👩🏻‍🦰👨‍🦰👱‍♀️👨🏼‍🦳

My wish is that there will one day be ‘ZERO’ on the statistics of su***de within the professions 🚫❌⭕️

If we can help decrease the numbers, one coffee at a time, one station visit at a time....then this mission will be a success! ‼️

What a great morning at Durack QFES/QFRS giving out “Thank You” coffees that have been paid for by our wonderful customers! 💗🙏🌟
Awesome bunch of guys!! 🌟🙌
Most of the ambos were out- but their OIC was able to come & enjoy one! ☕️

Some notes of appreciation were also written by Grades 2, 4 & 6 from Jimboomba State School.👏🫶!

Great to catch up with my former Ambo colleague Andy - who’s now the Station Officer at Durack firies.

What a special treat to be able to go up 39mts in the ‘Aerial’!!!! (I loved it!!!!!…. Ella was a bit petrified 🤣 lol)!!
