Big news, HOV Fam!

It’s going to look a little different around here, and by a little different, we mean it’s not going to look like us at all.

It’s going to be these bright faces that you see and speak to from now on. The new owners of House of Vows and the smarts behind all of the wonderful things ahead of this humble house.

Managing a venue remotely proved a little tricky, so we’ve passed the torch to our amazing pals Ash & Ben from HeartSongs, who we have unfaltering faith in to utilise it to all of its glorious potential, growing it in to the Mojo Dojo Casa House of weddings and events in Townsville.

Congrats to this ridiculous skilled pair on their new beginning. We truly cannot think of a more fitting dynamic duo to develop what we’ve built and we are so excited to see where you take this eclectic venue - it’s everyone’s house, but it’s your home 🖤

With the most contrasting of emotions, we’d like to let you know that our time in Townsville is coming to a beautifully bittersweet end. Our hearts feel an odd recipie of equal parts burdensome and buoyant at the prospect of being with our families and creating a life for our children in a place that has always been home.

Saying goodbye to everything we have here is crippling. Leaving beautiful friendships is distressing and wandering outside of the safety blanket of the company we have created is surely the most daring thing we’ve ever done, but it is time to go home.

House of Vows will continue to run as a charming and characteristic dry hire space for Townsville events, managed by us and hired staff. We intend to expand its locations, building a unique and first of its kind venue along the Sunshine Coasts sublime beaches and dense hinterlands.

will follow us. We’ll continue to offer catered microwedding days in Townsville and wherever the heck else we feel like it. We’ve got some cool plans, we hope you’ll stay along for the ride.

Our emotions right now are mirrored to what we felt when we made the move here in 2016 - a profound amount of trepidation over the unknown. But with us, we take pride in what we bought to the Townsville wedding industry and immense gratitude for the couples that allowed us place to make it happen.

We’re having the audacity to be unhindered. We’re embracing the uncertainty and enjoying the beauty of rebecoming. When nothing is certain, anything is possible, so we’re letting life surprise us 🫶🏻

A day Kate will never be able to forget…

What has always been her birthday, now also her wedding anniversary!

Matt pulled the ultimate surprise by planning Kate’s ‘surprise party’, organising their nearest and dearest to attend and asking them to keep plans from her. Everyone thought they were so sneaky, but she one upped them, not only knowing every detail, but adding a wedding ceremony into it.

Guests arrived by bus to and with vibey tunes from welcoming them, it was quickly a tear fest.

Everyone was overwhelmed with unexpected excitement, ready to cheer and clap as Kate arrived. The ceremony was a literal party. This was the most pumped party we’ve ever witnessed.

Kate’s brief to was ‘I like your s**t, can you do something’ and something she did!

Thanks Kate & Matt for bringing such celebration and to the incredible vendors that bought it together 🤍

We celebrate humans in love. We recognise the importance in marriages beginning in a way that is unfeigned and unique to the couple and we cherish intimate moments.

So, over a typical hump day gin, we came up with a thang’ to suit those that aren’t fussed by guest lists and formalities.

We’d like to introduce you to Townsville’s newest wedding concept, an all-inclusive pop-up ceremony for the romantics that want to marry in vulnerability inducing, catered seclusion.

With zero guests, this elopement style experience includes complete ceremony styling (including the bouquet), all legal components of marriage, a gallery of photos (and an optional additional video), a petite cake and silk ribbon vow cards.

Designed for loved up pairs that would otherwise utilise court house weddings, this ceremony provides everything in an intimate setting for one fee.

Simply arrive engaged to your pre-set up ceremony at your assigned booking time, get married by Celebrant Abbey, enjoy your portrait session with Wolf & Goose, celebrate with provided drinks and canapes and go home married with keepsake gifts from the day.

Days will run twice yearly, with different themes and styling each time.
