For our 2024 convention, we were proud to announce Veteran Gaming Australia as our official Charity Partner! This incredible organisation provides support, camaraderie, and purpose to veterans through the power of gaming. By fostering connection and teamwork, they’re making a real difference in the lives of those who’ve served.

Thanks to the amazing support of our attendees, we were able to raise much needed funds and awareness for this fantastic cause. We are so grateful to Veteran Gaming Australia for their incredible work and for being part of our event. Together, we made 2024 an unforgettable year! ❤️🎉

Are you a vendor of pop culture products or services? Do you want to showcase your goods to a passionate and enthusiastic audience? If so, you might be interested in applying for a spot at Townsville Pop Fest 2025!

Townsville Pop Fest is a one-day event that celebrates all things pop culture, from comics and games to movies and cosplay. It’s a fun and family friendly event for fans of all ages and backgrounds. You can expect to see amazing guests, panels, workshops, competitions, and more!

As a vendor, you will have the opportunity to sell your products or services to thousands of attendees who share your love for pop culture. You will also be part of a vibrant and supportive community of creators and entrepreneurs. Whether you are a seasoned vendor or a newcomer, you will find a place at the Townsville Pop Fest.

As we enter the spooky season, it's with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to the incredible Ken Page, whose iconic voice as Oogie Boogie became an integral part of so many childhood Halloween and Christmas memories.

From the playful majesty of King Gator in All Dogs Go to Heaven to the warmth he brought as Old Deuteronomy in Cats, Ken’s unforgettable performances have left us with fond memories that will last a lifetime.

His laughter, talent, and spirit will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace, Ken Page, and thank you for sharing your light with us all. 💚✨🌈

In loving memory of Dame Maggie Smith, whose brilliance graced us with unforgettable characters that will live on in our hearts. 💙

From the wisdom of Minerva McGonagall to the wit of the Dowager Countess, she breathed life into many stories and touched the souls of all who witnessed her perform her craft.

The stage and screen may have lost a legend, but her legacy will forever light our way.

🚨 Important Update: Postponing of 2024 Trivia Nights 🚨

Hey Popstars! We regret to inform you that our Disney/Pixar and Video Game trivia nights, originally scheduled for later this year, will be cancelled.

Due to a recent decision by the Townsville City Council to convert Townsville Stadium into a sports-only venue, we are now in the process of securing a new location for our event in 2025. With this unexpected change, our focus is on finding a new venue, which means we won't have the time to organise our trivia nights as originally planned.

But don’t worry! We love these trivia themes just as much as you do, and we are committed to bringing them back. These trivia nights will be rescheduled to the first half of 2025. Stay tuned for updates!

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We can’t wait to see you at our trivia nights next year!

We’re thrilled to shine a light on the incredibly talented cosplayer, Nemo Box! 🎭✨Nemo has been making waves in the cosplay community, gaining well-deserved recognition over the past few years. After winning the Advanced Cosplay Competition at MackPopCon last year, Nemo was invited to judge this year’s competition in Mackay—a true honor that they are deeply grateful for. Their impressive journey continued with a Judges’ Choice award at Brisbane Supanova.

Looking ahead, Nemo has some exciting plans for next year, including being a guest at Cairns’ new convention, Hive Con! We can’t wait to see what they bring to the table and are beyond excited to support them on this journey.

At just 21 years old, Tess from Lotus Flower Photography identifies as genderfluid and has been a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community since childhood. Photography has always been a passion, providing an escape from reality and a way to capture the beauty of things they love.

In addition to photography, they also cosplay for local charity events, bringing joy and creativity to the community. We were so honoured to feature Tess as one of our event photographers at this year's Pop Fest and hope they wish to return in 2025! 🌈 Celebrating Wear It Purple Day! 🌈

Join us in celebrating our LGBTQIA+ artists, cosplayer & creators on this amazing day! 🎉

Based in Brisbane, Dazzlemebree has been dazzling the cosplay community since late 2016 with their versatility, craftsmanship, and open queerness. They are over the moon to be part of our Wear It Purple Day celebration!

Two of their favorite cosplays are Akechi Goro from Persona 5 and Catra from She-Ra: Princess of Power. These characters are not only over-the-top dramatic but also wonderfully queer-coded, allowing Dazzlemebree to channel their eccentric energy and receive that extra validation we all crave in our day-to-day lives.

Cosplaying characters like Catra and Akechi brings a new dynamic to the wearable arts, offering our community a way to express ourselves and find our “weird crews” to create safe spaces. 🌟
