The beautiful stained-glass window at Rotary Chapel, donated by John Westera and Vince Rehbein, is a non-denominational piece reflecting the modern face of the Gold Coast. Created by artist Philippa White, it depicts the rolling surf, a glowing sun, skyline, a wind surfer, sandy beach, and Surfers Paradise Beach lifeguard station #34.

From the moment the music started and my beautiful bride walked down the aisle, escorted by her son, I saw a tear roll down my grooms cheek, then he took a deep breath as she step up on to the Pavillon to greet him and they cudnt resist hugging each other! My heart skipped a beat and I too had to hold back a tear. Another beautiful , moving, fun wedding I was blessed to be part of.

Wow! Another beautiful couple I had the honour and fun to marry at the amazing The Collective, Palm Beach upstairs on their roof top bar. My couple included a sand ceremony and Sage cleansing ritual. The staff were friendly and easy to deal with. Every two months The Collective have a theme and this month it was Japan hence all the beautiful hanging pink cherry blossoms. Congratulations to my lovely fun couple on their beautiful wedding in the backyard of their family home, that had just been sold so the deadline was on to have the wedding she had dreamed of having in the garden of the house she grew up in. Lots of laughter and tears. Wishing them every happiness always. They had a lovely artist who took pics of couples /ppl before and after the ceremony and painted their portraits. TY everyone for Steve’s birthday wishes! He really appreciates it. We had a fabulous day around the Sofitel pool, with family joining us for lunch, then an upgrade on our very comfy king room, dinner at a local Thai restaurant where Steve enjoyed a very different choice for him of a panang curry but my pad Thai was soooo spicy (and I asked for mild) I cudnt eat it. We arrived back at our room to complimentary champagne and cheese platter which we enjoyed whilst sitting on our balcony overlooking Broadbeach chatting until late hours of the night!!! We stayed here on NYE and again the Sofitel gave us a great night.

What a beautiful fun elopement! My lovely couple invited their family and close friends for a picnic at 10 am in their local park and surprise! I married them!! Yes It was hot and humid so it was great idea to have it at 10 before the real heat of the day arrived. Everyone loved being part of their ‘picnic elopement’. Robyn is a dedicated volunteer who has been working with us for over six years.
As part of the spiritual care team, she also lends her time to the oncology and cancer wards.

Having been through a cancer journey herself, Robyn has developed a strong connection with patients from these wards.

Robyn provides patients with emotional support and comfort in various ways, whether it be through counselling, conversations, or simply sitting in silence with them to help them through their journeys.

Her motivation to volunteer comes from her own experience with cancer, as she realises how frightening and isolating it can be. Robyn believes that no one should have to go through such experiences alone.

In reflecting on her career highlights, Robyn expresses that she leaves work each day with a heart full of tears – tears of joy from the meaningful connections she has made with the amazing people she interacts with on a daily basis.

Thank you Robyn for your dedication and the wonderful support you provide.

A big huge TY to all our Energex staff, SES, emergency services and volunteers for working so hard 24/7 in restoring power to so many areas, including ours at Parkwood, we only lost power around 9 am and back on now around 8 pm. Thank you thank you thank you I’m sure it wasn’t how you wanted to spend your Boxing Day. . Our heart aches for everyone affected by this terrible storm last night. Praying everyone stays safe and as a community we all bond together to help each other - a time for friends, neighbors and strangers to come together as one. Kindness costs nothing xx
