Sharyn Clive frank and I checked out our new venue for Julie's Karaoke yesterday. .
it's lovely..
lots of room to move around and DANCE..
big kitchen space so lots of coffees and hot chocolates and soft drinks
Big huge screen for the words to our songs ..
Nice easy ramps for easy access.
Heaps of parking for us..
PLUS..
the best picnic ground and little beach area
great walking area and
best view of the lilydale lake..
Can't wait to see you all on Monday night and find out what you think

Our last night at Mt Evelyn football club rooms..the lift having already broken down has made us realise it is not practical to have a first floor venue.
We have been extremely fortunate to lease the lilydale lake community room..gorgeous venue..great location..lots of parking..and it's ours exclusively for the duration of karaoke..AND it's on the ground floor..no lifts..
Saying that we will miss MESCH which is a stunning new building.
I just wish the powers that be would have a venue just for people with different abilities..senior citizens have a venue..bowling clubs have a venue..tennis clubs has a venue..mayb i need to start a campaign for the shire to grant us a venue to be used exclusively for people of all abilities mmm...
Anyway tonight was fantastic..as always we have the best singers and dancers

what a great night we had...
so busy we only managed 1 song for everybody..
but we had lots of group songs and dance songs..

The rain bucketed down last night and even though we didn't have heaps of guys there everybody got lots of songs and everybody got a second Easter egg..now thats got to make you happy
There was an amazing announcement
2 of our singers got engaged on valentines day and shared the news with us last night..the loveliest engagement ring was on show when she sang unchained melody with him...very very nice💫💫💫

Took a bit of getting used to our new venue tonight BUT the lift worked which was the most important thing
Fantastic view of the hills..
Lots of great singers and we even managed a few dances

Julie's karaokes first ever open air karaoke is on tonight
Due to a malfunction in our new venues lift we cant use the upstairs function room
We are able to use a small room downstairs..and we will make the best of it and have Mt Evelyns first ever 'Sunbury Music Festival'
so everybody in Mt Eve that is us playing the best music you've ever heard

Today is our last day at the presbyterian church hall ..
Julies karaoke will be moving to Mount Evelyn sports and community hub(mt evelyn footy ground complex)
as from 4th March
Everything will be the same as it is now..
Same time 6.-8.30
Same cost..$10
Same great singers and dancers and same great friends who volunteer to make this a great night..
The only thing we won't have is the church blaming us for things that our guys didn't do..
While our move will be so much better for us the way it was done was deplorable..5 days notice 1 week before christmas..it was a mighty fight to get 3 months extra to give us time to find somewhere to relocate..all this because someone who I don't know and someone who doesn't come to karaoke put some words about discrimination against our guys at the street party on facebook..the church took offence and evicted us ..
So onwards to something much better for us

Well after much stressing and hair pulling we have found our forever home(fingers crossed).....
Mt Evelyn Football Club under the banner of MESCH have agreed with us using their function room every second monday night for JULIES KARAOKE..
it's a lot more rent than what we are presently paying but at least we now have somewhere to go after our eviction..
It ticks all our boxes..
We can leave our equipment there.
Great parking
Totally wheelchair etc friendly
Has a great lift which takes us to the function room
TV's all set up
Heaps of tables and chairs
Really good kitchen facilities
AND ITS IN
MT. EVELYN...
We have had an extension on our eviction so we will have 5th and 19th February at the church hall and directions and maps will be given out on these nights

I hope everybody had a great Christmas and new year and you are all enjoying the holidays..
We have had a huge hiccup since our last Karaoke on 11th December..
on the 13th december we were given until 18th December to vacate the hall(yes 5 days) even though we have a 6 month trial followed by a 12 month lease which takes us to August 2024..we are 4 months into our 12 month lease
I fought them and the church committee have begrudgingly extended our time til the 4th of March..which isn't fair or moral or legal but it's the best I can do with everything closed until next week.
I have rung and visited so many halls and not had a lot of success .. another church has a hall available Monday nights but at $150 per night ..we can't afford that plus they have no where for us to store our equipment..
other venues especially Mt Evelyn RSL has been wonderful but the only night they have free is Thursday and this doesn't work for us..so I'm hoping someone can help .the venue needs to be in Mt Evelyn and available on a monday night(Tuesday night may work but I'm not sure)must have good parking and be wheelchair accessible with disabled toilets..and we can store our equipment there
I'm at my wits end.
There is Wandin senior citizens hall at $100 per night but it's too far for some to come ...

We had a fantastic last night for 2023.
Santa come and gave out gift bags to everyone..even the people in Sharyns naughty line. 🎅
We celebrated 5 birthdays with gorgeous little cupcakes made by Tanya..🎂
Quite a few christmas carols were sung a little bit of dancing and lots and lots of laughter smiles and happiness.
Thank you to everyone for supporting us ..
and thank you to all the people who donated things but especially thank you to
Sharyn..Mr Music ..Liz and Frank for doing everything to make monday night karaoke the best 🎤🎼🎵🎶
