Thank you to Cr Donna Gates - Gold Coast and City of Gold Coast for granting us right of use at Viney Park Coomera. I missed taking a photo of the large pools of water on the courts yesterday but puddles were soon removed with a blower. This means wet courts no longer will stop play, plus painted lines ..... yaay!

Viney Park is just near Dreamworld with easy access to the M1. Come join us soon. Twelve courts available to us!

Pickleball is NOT tennis. The aim of the game is to come to the non-volley zone (kitchen) and play the fast paced game from there. It really tests the player's reflexes!

Today's session was very successful. A fun round robin format so everyone played 6 games. It was so good to play again after all the rain. Possibly some sore bods tomorrow, me included! Age range was mid 20s to late 50s.

The old dodgy, patchwork, clay courts are being ripped up as we speak - to make way for two brand new Hardcourts, 2 brand new Synthetic Grass Courts, and Eight (yes eight) brand new Pickleball/Hot Shots Courts.

Beenleigh Tennis Centre will soon be the proud home of a venue that boasts 8 quality hard courts, (allowing us to run Tennis Australia AMT platinum Tournaments) and 8 Pickleball Courts, (allowing us to run the Pickleball State and National Championships).

I was watching the 2017 finals on youtube yesterday. Very interesting when the commentator said you can only go in the kitchen if the ball lands in it. That is not the case in 2019!

So important to keep up with the latest rules as they are reviewed and amended each year. There is only one rule book all countries use - USAPA/IFP Rule Book.

TIP: Do not buy a paddle without trying it first. When you start playing, members of the club you play at will happily allow you to try their paddle.

Here is a fun day we attended earlier this month at Halcyon. Was amazing to watch the Elliott family from Engage Pickleball play and then have a little clinic. Now to save to go to a training clinic in The Villages, Florida!
