Now that you’re here, you may as well know a little bit about how Coombs Blooms came to life and some goss about the mastermind behind the operation (that’d be me..🙋🏼♀️).
Firstly- just a quick rundown of the important peeps in this photo and how they are featured as a tribute to my business; my husband, Michael who supports me endlessly in every aspect of my life. He gifted me with his last name, Coombs and came up with the name ‘Coombs Blooms’. While I first laughed it off as a cute and funny suggestion, I obviously came around to the idea. And the real star of the show, my rescue greyhound, Daisy. She is the cutie doggo in my logo who I just adore. And that’s me, Jannah (pronounced like Hannah but with a J.. thanks mum).
It all started here, on my wedding day back in 2019 (how lucky were we that we got our wedding in before the world went crazy with the spicy cough). I really wanted to do my own flowers even though I had no experience, no idea what I was doing and no knowledge about flowers. Haha. But, I winged it and was so happy with the result!
I really surprised myself with how much I enjoyed it and not to toot my own horn, but how magically, amazingly, undoubtably brilliant I was at creating the florals! Oh wait, was that too much? Just kidding, but I did raise an eyebrow at the end and say to myself ‘gee, that’s not bad is it?’
Anyway, fast forward to mid 2020 when I quit my job and started working with my best friend in her photography business, shout out to . I entered a whole new world (queue little mermaid soundtrack) and my creative juices were flowing like they never had before. My little brain shifted from boring computer work to creating magic on set- a much more enjoyable daily grind!
As a set stylist, my skills were growing and we soon started branching out (no pun intended) to using florals in our sets and that’s where I really started getting a lot of practice in. I felt the most comfortable and confident when I got to play with flowers! I just loved it so much and I think that’s were I started to plant the seed (again, no pun intended) about having my own floristry business one day.
And that brings us to now! I’m so excited to see what the future holds for me and Coombs Blooms!
