THE DETAILS ✨// JASMINE + JASON (09.09.17)
Jasmine and Jason’s original style brief was inspired by the eclectic, festival vibes of Coachella, complete with custom signage, wild florals and neon lights.
Following an unexpected venue change, we tweaked the concept slightly to reflect their new poolside location, creating a modern island-luxe feel for their cocktail celebration in the Gold Coast hinterland.
Ceremony styling was kept simple and unstructured against the most incredible natural backdrop, with foliage garlands weaving down bamboo chairs and an oversized floral arch bursting with olive leaf, feathery pampas grass and white blooms.
For reception styling, we kept colours minimal and earthy with hints of deep navy blue, subtle gold accents and natural textures of rattan and bamboo. Relaxed cocktail settings were scattered by the pool, framed by lush hinterland surrounds and simple strings of festoon lights. Seagrass umbrellas were paired with director stools, bamboo tables, rattan armchairs and clusters of plants in woven baskets for a resort-meets-festival feel, with oversized white balloons floating dreamily in the pool as a beautiful focal feature.

When of brought me on board for the I was siked. I love their brand, have worked with them before and really aligned with Nat’s vision and enthusiasm to support local and environmentally-conscious as much as we possibly could!
As the production unfolded, the depth of inspiration and meaning got deeper and deeper. First, we were building beautiful spaces for the female surfers to get ready for the first time in the competition’s history. Years past, they got ready in their cars. Then of also reaches out for me to help them with their spaces for the ladies. And he echoes Nat’s desire to create something beautiful for the competitors because they deserve it! I’m in love. I get to work on designing cool installs and spaces for these rock-stars with the unique talents of our sweet village in mind.
1 week later a local girl wins the world title, qualifies for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics along with a number of other amazing females from the competition. Then announces equal pay for females + males!⚡️🙌🏽⚡️The ladies crushed it and so did my team. Beyond grateful.
