GETTING MARRIED WHEN YOU HAVE A YOUNG BABY........

When baby Houston was born, Jana put off the idea of getting married as she thought it was just TOO HARD!

Partner Trent had a bright idea though - hire a romantic B'nB and call in Elope Bendigo!

I am often asked what I do after the ceremony is finished.

I step out of the way to enjoy the few minutes watching you being congratulated, put on some music to keep the festive vibe happening, help your photographer set up a group photo, and then get back to the marriage documents .

I have a quiet moment to make sure every signature is there, every name correct. I pack up my stuff and then come and find you to say goodbye.

I jump in my car and usually can't stop smiling all the way home - another beautiful couple is married, tucked away in a corner of my heart forever - and I had the time of my life doing it!

Some Do's and Don'ts:

DO
✔️ write in your own voice
✔️ speak from the heart
✔️ use a little bit of humour, if that's your ceremony vibe
✔️ mention personality characteristics that you adore
✔️ say what you are really grateful for
✔️ end with a couple of decent promises to your partner
✔️ PRACTISE, PRACTISE, PRACTISE!

DON'T
❌️ copy something from Google
❌️ use chat GPT (everyone will know and it won't sound like you)

WELL HELLO!

It's winter, big weddings slow down, and the cold can get a bit grim, but I'm still meeting, planning, writing and rewriting!

Apart from creating fabulous, engaging and romantic ceremonies with a light touch, I put my whole heart into their delivery! I want you and your guests to ADORE your ceremony . I have a pretty good time too!

This photo of Tyler, making lifelong promises to Aimee, is exactly why I suggest you all stand together, especially for a tiny wedding or elopement!

Aimee and Tyler's kids were so excited that mum and dad were getting married. They proudly presented the wedding rings with style, and were certainly right there with them when it came to the vows. Check out that tiny hand of encouragement on dad's shoulder! Simply adorable ❤️❤️❤️

WET WEATHER ELOPEMENT - yeah, no big deal! (About the weather!)

Today took me and Jess to the Oak Forest in Harcourt for an elopement.

Yes, it was wet, but we found a dryish spot under the trees for the legal words to be said. Rings were popped on fingers and the documents signed.

NO ONE CARED ABOUT THE WEATHER! Elopements are pretty quick and everyone who is invited is rapt to be there, so why complain?

Our Elope Bendigo couples are the best! And Jess and I are super flexible to go with whatever they want.

There are so many reasons why a winter elopement makes sense.

These are our top 5:

✅ winter light is perfect for photos, any time of the day. No waiting around for the golden hour for the light to soften
✅ it's quiet! Some of our bush locations will be deserted when the chill sets in. We also know the best outdoor locations with shelter close by
✅ you can be creative with what you wear - fake fur, long sleeved wedding dresses ( ), flowing wraps and scarves, three piece suits, long coats (or puffer jacket with a band tee underneath, if that's more your style)
✅ be different- 90% of couples seem to opt for Autumn or Spring in Central Vic.
✅ easy to tie us down to a date - even a Saturday arvo elopement is possible in Winter

And if you'd like to take us to Hotham or Falls for a snow wedding, we're up for that too! ☃️

Marry your best friend in the backyard! Invite a bunch of nearest and dearest and enjoy an easy and fun wedding ceremony. Sue will make the ceremony utterly delightful and then go for a walk to your favorite places for some photos! Easy. Simple. Memorable xx

Would you love to escape the city to marry your love in a stunning Central Vic location but not sure about the logistics of planning it?

Great news - it's not hard at all!💃🕺

Signing of the first legal paperwork (Notice of Intended Marriage) can now be done over Zoom, from anywhere in Australia.

Sue is also able to receive all ID documents via email and she has become the Queen of Zoom at planning! Yep, not much of a title but it's true 👸.

Sue and Jess have all the ideas about cool places to elope, as well as places to stay, where to celebrate, get your hair and make-up done and get the best blooms.

We can basically do all the pre ceremony stuff remotely and then finally meet face to face on your wedding day - it's that simple.

Let's talk about wedding vows.

Must I speak at all during our wedding ceremony? YES (legal vow )

Do we have to write our own wedding vows? NO

Yay! Backyard weddings are back! Home visiting restrictions apply (currently 10) but sometimes it's exactly where you want to elope with your nearest and dearest.

Nicole and Kieren did exactly that back in June and were blessed by a gorgeous Winter's day and stunning sunset.

The short answer, ANYWHERE!

Well, except in your own backyard atm .

Popular places in Bendigo are all the public gardens but we know many many more spots to suggest - river banks, secret bush locations, amongst majestic granite boulders, on mountain tops (well, small mountains in central Vic 🤣), historic sites.

We both love the bush and adore a bushwalk, so if a bit of a hike is your thing, let's do that too!

When you book with us, all will be revealed and you can have fun checking out our favourite places.

We do elopements (secret or otherwise) as well as micro weddings with up to 20 guests (bring on the end of October when weddings can have more than the current 8 guests - all will have to be double vaxed though)
