Last Sunday's SH**UN AUDIO sesh with Monrroe, Duskee and GLXY was JOKES. Locals kept the room thumping from 3 until 11pm. We couldn't have asked for better vibes. Here's some unreal snaps from our absolutely unreal party with at the Gaso.

018: JALLA

Having begun his journey DJing deep house and trap at house and birthday parties, Lake swiftly developed a deep passion for DnB and dubstep. This led to him playing at numerous private bush parties and ticketed events within the Newcastle scene. He is grateful to have supported several local crews, including Newy Bass Crew, LowFreq, Higher Ground, Dekonstructed, and Brisbane’s 8BallAudio. Additionally, he has been involved with the Caldera Collective, a project supported and played under jalla, which has organized several impactful parties to raise funds and awareness for various not-for-profits through DnB events. Now residing in Melbourne, catch a renegade HiBass set in the streets of Northside Naarm spinning a hybrid of minimal tech rollers, jump up, local WIPs with a bit of cheeky 140.

016: ZERO1

Zero1, a drum and bass DJ hailing from London, found his love for the genre after attending his first jungle rave back in '98. That pivotal experience led him to invest in his first turntables. A few years later, he was running multiple internet radio shows, eventually catching the attention of DJ Flight, who featured his mix on the ‘Breakin’ New Talent’ segment on BBC 1Xtra.

In 2010, Zero1 moved to Naarm and quickly immersed himself in the local drum and bass scene, making a name for himself on the underground warehouse party circuit. His passion for the music eventually led him to host The LoFreq Show on Kiss FM. Over the years, he’s supported a range of renowned artists, including Mampi Swift, Phace, A.M.C, Benny L, Danny Byrd, Friction, Cern, Dom & Roland, Philth, Breakage, Crossy, Djinn, Klute, S.P.Y... the list goes on. He’s also taken the stage at festivals like the legendary Esoteric Festival. Recently, Zero1 has expanded his talents into production and event organising, continuing to push the boundaries with The LoFreq Show.

Hailing from Southampton, ZAZA is a newcomer to the vibrant Melbourne/Naarm DJ scene. She has spent the last year exploring a range of genres, blending elements of psytrance, jungle, and speedbass - time and time again coming back to the familiar dopamine rush of DNB and all of its subgenres.
If you enjoy catching experimental floor-filling sets that take you on journeys of ebbs, flows and filthy bass, this is not one to be missed.

HARRY / HELIX .uk Hailing from the UK and recently returning to his newfound home Melbourne, DJ & Producer Harry has recently come on board as a new member of the SUB:SOLAR crew to deliver high quality raves here in Naarm. With an affinity for deep, dark and soulful underground drum and bass, he’s bringing fresh energy to our vision for the brand.

MEL / (MELTA ) founded SUB:SOLAR in January 2023 with the goal of platforming underground and dark drum & bass genres. She operates with a community focus and desire to support new artists coming through the ranks. With keen eye for detail and unrelenting drive for the music, she’s quickly built SUB:SOLAR into a trusted name.

In under 2 years we've hosted 12 international headliners, 5 local nights and free parties. In mid-2024 we launched our SUB:SOLAR Guest Mix Series, so far showcasing 14 incredible Naarm community members on our SoundCloud.

014: EPIPHANY

Originally from Birmingham UK, Holly AKA Epiphany started her DJ journey whilst living in Melbourne. During her time here she was heavily involved in the drum and bass community, hosting raves and fundraisers and regularly playing and attending events.

She has a love for deep soulful sounds but is also heavily influenced by skatty drums, which is evident in the mix as she goes deep into the jungle with a hint of darker drum and bass. You’ll either find her screwfaced near the subs or making friends on the dancefloor. She is a true multi genre DJ that is a sucker for a rolling bassline, euphoric melodies and old school sounds.

Bacterial Blend is a DJ and Producer hailing from Fondi, Italy. He embarked on his journey into the world of drum and bass in 2013.

Presently, he resides in Naarm (Melbourne, AU), where he has seamlessly integrated into the local music community, becoming a familiar figure in the drum and bass circuit.

Helix, hailing from the UK, has become a familiar face of the scene since moving to Melbourne. He’s known to bring the vibes to his sets, drawing for deep and soulful tunes to the dark and techy sonics of the underground.

Back home Helix has supported the likes of Serum, Particle, Sota and Zoro, as well as 1991 and Napes here in Melbourne.

MELTA’s bold & gritty selections have quickly earned her a respected place in Naarm’s bass music community. A true bass fiend to her core, when she’s not dishing out girthy rollers you’ll find her front row on the dancefloor.

She’s supported international heavyweights Jappa, Napes, T>I, Pola & Bryson and Annix and also performed festivals Touch Bass, Esoteric & SubTerra in VIC as well as Eden Festival (NT).
Her style flows from minimal & liquid to chunky jump up, rollers and jungle as well as UKG, dubstep and bassline, with a particular fondness for high energy & dark drum & bass.

Her unique selections are guaranteed to keep the floor shaking and your body moving.

A vocal advocate for the broader community, she’s buried in bass both in front and behind the scenes, curating immersive local and international events with her own brand SUB:SOLAR and coordinating events with the Twisted Audio team.

In 2002 Monkee was first exposed to a booming underground electronic music scene in Perth and instantly fell in love. With drum and bass at the core of the scene in Perth, Monkee set out to bring the music he loves to Melbourne.

Over the past 15 years Monkee has built a reputation as one of Melbourne’s most loved and renowned DJs, playing support to a long list of the worlds top bass music artists while featuring regularly on major festival lineups, most notably his performances with Dyzlexic at Esoteric from 2018 – 2023 🪐
