For the Incas, alpacas were part of their process of animal domestication. Aside from the animals themselves, the textiles made with the fiber of this animal had great importance within the culture as a symbol of social status and exclusivity.

PLEASE HELP - MISSING ALPACA CRIA
Missing from Harcourt North (Ford Road)
One-month-old white female cria
Disappeared from a paddock - suspect may have been stolen or picked up if found on the road.
Cria must remain on their mother for 6 months, so this cria is unlikely to survive if not re-united with its mother or fed the correct milk replacer.
Mother is extremely distressed.
By now, the cria is also probably very unwell.

Please phone Prue on 0429 437 781 if you have any information. If you are able to access the cria, please either ring Prue or take it straight away to your local vet and ask them to call Prue.
A CASH REWARD will be paid for its SAFE return.

Hoping someone can help as this cria deserves to live.

What a beautiful day for a wedding!!
Congratulations to Rebecca and Tyson.
Topaz and Humphrey were absolutely delighted to attend this beautiful wedding at the Adelaide Hills Convention Centre in the very busy but beautiful town of Hahndorf.
It was Humphrey’s first outing but he absolutely loved it and began mingling and greeting everyone as soon as he got there, a true professional.
Sadly it was Topaz’s last wedding and event as he will now be retiring, he’s absolutely loved being a wedding and event alpaca. He will be retiring to a new home with his best friends Carnelian and Jasper

Carnelian was absolutely obsessed with Melissa (or her bouquet 😂).
He didn’t want to go home and he actually jumped out of the van to go back to the wedding!!

Last weekend, Topaz and Carnelian attended a 2 year olds birthday party!
They were booked a whole year ago for his 1st birthday but due to lockdown it was postponed.
The boys had fun meeting everyone and were so glad they could bring some alpaca love to the birthday

The threat of foot and mouth coming into Australia is extremely high.
If you are going to Bali then ensure you do not visit any farms, do not pat any animals and definitely DO NOT bring any animal products back.
If foot and mouth disease gets into Australia millions of animals will be at risk and WILL be slaughtered if they have foot and mouth or in the vicinity of where foot and mouth is found.
This includes alpacas, therefore Mioshi Park will be closed and no one is to enter the property without prior arrangement.

The federal government announces a range of new measures to try and keep foot-and-mouth disease out of Australia as Indonesia grapples with an outbreak of the devastating condition.
