“To be pregnant is to be vitally alive, thoroughly woman, and distressingly inhabited. Soul and spirit are stretched – along with body – making pregnancy a time of transition, growth, and profound beginnings.”
– Anne Christian Buchanan
There is still so much photography magic to be had after the sun has disappeared behind the horizon, and that final glow of day gives way to blue hour.

Revisiting one of my favourites from the archives! It's incredible to slow down and notice the small details in life - the colour, the textures, the patterns. Life is made up of so many beautiful small things.
Water of life!

"Everybody says women are like water. I think it's because water is the source of life, and it adapts itself to its environment. Like women, water also gives of itself wherever it goes to nurture life...."

Everything about this is just divine. The red hair, the soft golden light, the sliver of ocean in the background, the glorious baby bump - maternity shoots just leave me in awe of women!

There are no words - just an absolutely gorgeous mama in bloom
Seriously, such a gorgeous pregnant goddess!
I am so in love with the photos I have taken on the Art of Maternity workshop weekend!
Once upon a time, I was absolutely terrified at the thought of trying to add motion into photos - I was so stuck on the idea that everything needed to be completely crisp. I'm still working it out, working on building it into my style, and mostly trying to embrace the uncertainty of the result, but that's part of the joy of creating art, no?

An awesome memory popped up today, from my time in Galapagos - 11 years ago! How the time flies. One of my many favourite moments from the trip was our last course, which was a diving expedition around the archipelago to investigate the different marine ecoregions influenced by the different currents. Diving off Darwin and Wolf Islands and near the Darwin Arch yielded the most amazing school of hammerhead sharks. It was an incredible sight
Took my new X100VI from and for a spin today. This is definitely going to be my camera for capturing day to day moments! I love this camera! I got a beautiful shot of this gorgeous peacock having a rest in the shade at
The caracal is a particularly beautiful cat! Their striking eye markings and ear tufts make them easily recognisable
Happy World Wildlife Day!
To celebrate, I'm sharing one of my favourite early wildlife shots. This was captured way back in 2010, while visiting Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania. I loved this moment as the cub popped up in the long grass and the two sat for ages just looking out to the crater wall. It's a wonderful reminder of how many incredible species we share this world. Here is to a bright future for them all as we answer the call to action to protect this planet and our fellow inhabitants.
A surprise wedding, a stunning red dress, and a stroll through the gardens in the afternoon for two beautiful people, very much in love 💕
When someone just looks like they belong in a renaissance painting! The ethereal Maria gave serious queen energy for this impromptu shoot before I left London in August.
It's a beautiful thing to see how a new baby brings such joy to a family!
Peering over the edge at the footprints in the sand. I adore my early morning swims at the ocean baths, especially during winter when it's quiet and the air is crisp.
A busy bee doing what busy bees do among the lavender. Sometimes, it's nice to be able to stop and enjoy the little joyous things in life!
On the prowl. This stunning male cheetah was a most obliging photography and film subject - that is, once we found him after a good hour of tracking with our ranger back in 2018 on the stunning private game reserve.
The oncoming storm. I was fortunate to spend a year living in St Andrews, Scotland, while undertaking my postgraduate studies. It is an absolutely beautiful town with rich history and culture. I miss it dearly.
Switzerland never disappoints when it comes to stunning mountain views!
At the transition, ready to move into motherhood
I love a good silhouette shot!
"We forget that the water cycle and the life cycle are one."
Jacques Cousteau
There is such a beautiful spiritual connection with water. Life began in the water. We begin our lives in the water of the womb. It's beautiful to be able to dip our toes back into the salty soul of the Earth.
There is something so sweet about a little girl and her pony. A bond that is special and unique. A bond that can span a lifetime.

A snippet of the gorgeous wedding of Meagan and Daniel. The rain couldn't dampen the spirits of these two beautiful souls, who got to spend an amazing day celebrating their love in the heart of Sydney city.
