For the first time ever, Stepping Stone are opening their doors after dark for a beautiful and intimate three-course sit-down meal.

Throughout the evening, you’ll have the chance to forge new connections over meaningful conversations and a beautifully curated meal.

On the menu you can expect three vegetarian courses, each accompanied by a personal story from the chef who created it. They’ll share the inspiration, history, and personal journey behind the creation of each dish.

As you indulge in the incredible dishes prepared by refugee and migrant chefs from the Canberra community, you'll witness firsthand how Café Stepping Stone and Her Kitchen Table use food as a powerful tool for empowerment.

SEASON’S GREETINGS

This year, HKT catered up a storm. From the ACT Volunteering Expo to the Community Services Directorate's Director-General Awards, our Meal Artists shared their delicious home-cooked dishes with the Canberra community.

Without your enthusiasm and dedication to social change, we wouldn't be where we are now. So thank you for supporting us in 2023.

We are excited for 2024 with you. We have some big goals and ideas that we can't wait to share. So stay tuned! But for now, enjoy the holiday season.

We loved being a part of Grand opening: Social Bean Cafe & Emporium. This new venture is designed to bring the community together and offer a space for the community to showcase their talents and is powered by Capital Region Community Services.

Today we took over the kitchen and we loved sharing authentic cuisine from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and the Philippines. 🇦🇫 🇧🇩 🇵🇭

Going forward, we will takeover the kitchen once a month with different cuisines from around the world. 🌍

HKT is taking over the kitchen at the Belconnen Community Centre for the Grand Opening of Capital Region Community Services new social venture Social Bean Cafe & Emporium.

Book your table for dinner at 6pm or 8pm and indulge in home-cooked meals from around the world, prepared with love by migrant and refugee women right here in Canberra.

Our partner Zeytin Turkish Cuisine is closing their doors for the last time on October 22nd. Our heartfelt thanks to executive chef Metin Baran and everyone at Zeytin.

Simply put, HKT could not have operated without the help of Zeytin and Metin and we are so grateful for their support. We look forward to continuing our work with Metin and we will definitely miss our favourite restaurant and cherish all the beautiful memories! But we are looking forward to the future!

Please do visit Zeytin before they close. The HKT team will be dining there on Friday evening and you are all welcome to join us for another round of food and stories!
