After we have delayed opening Bar Texaco we are finally able to plan for our opening date of early November. We are on the lookout for casual and part time front of house team members to work directly with guests and a full time bar person. Bar Texaco is a Tex Mex BBQ restaurant on Sydney road in Brunswick. Serving top quality BBQ meats, handmade tacos and great drinks. We have a focus on Mezcal, Bourbon and Natural wines.

Front of house team members need a passion for guest experience and providing a friendly welcoming atmosphere. We will provide in return great training in traditional American style BBQ, Mexican food training including tastings to get everyone excited about the food and drinks that are available to our guests.

The Bar person will be someone who has a passion for cocktails and great quality booze. We will provide a range of top shelf Mezcal, Bourbons and wines to get those creative juices flowing. Great organisational skills will be needed to service the bar as we have 90 plus seats that can be used at any one time (once the density quotas are eased). We have 4 taps too for some flex in tap beer selection.

We aim to keep a fun atmosphere whilst getting the work done and providing a great experience for the guest. Award wages paid including all weekend and evening rates.

Restrictions are finally easing which means we are getting ready to open our new Brunswick digs soon. We got a little work done during lock down, as well as a deep clean, so we are aiming to be open early July with lots of exciting offerings. Bookings will be open soon so stay tuned 🍻

Hello everyone,
We are getting ready for a rib Fest tomorrow! Get in from 12noon and grab a take away pack to eat at home. Full racks, hot, cooked ready to enjoy or chill for another day. $75 for a 3 point rack of Bass Strait beef short ribs. And for those keen to smoke em at home we have raw racks available for $28kg, take them home, cook them up! Plenty of ribs to go around. We will have Brisket, Pork Belly as well as jalapeño and cheddar kranskys with slaw, pickles and sauce. Full price list and menu in the comments. In regards to COVID19 we are allowed 25 people in our restaurant but we will be having 10 people at a time. With the current situation of covid-19 we are trying to come up with a solution to open that is safe for our guests and team. We will up date you all with opening times and menu options most probably for the weekend only. Saturday and Sunday lunch.

Meatstock this weekend has been cancelled 😭
As it was starting tomorrow the smokers have been on all day before we got the bad news.
Sooooo we have a lot of freshly smoked meat to try and sell so we really need your help. We weren’t due to open our new digs until later in the month, but we will be here tomorrow, doors open lunch and dinner, corona virus free and with our festival style menu ready to sell some meat.
We have brisket, pork belly, beef ribs. It’s not going to be fancy but it’s going to be delicious!
Lunch 12pm- 3pm and then we reload for dinner 5pm-10pm

It’s our last day at The Gem in Collingwood today. Massive thanks to everyone that came down for a feed over the last 16 months! We are looking forward to a well earned break, but we will be back in 2020 with our very own new digs. Watch this space!
