3 years ago today Camilla called lifetime friend Liberty and said 'I want to start a burlesque troupe!'

And the rest, they say, is Showgirl history!!✨️

This year has been a HUGE one for the troupe and we are so excited to put everything we have learnt this year into the best possible version of us and our events in 2025 and beyond!

Introducing our newest Showgirl...

✨⭐MYRA MAGDALENE⭐✨

Myra Magdalene is a songstress, showgirl, and storyteller. Raised by two musicians, she was grooving to jazz before she could walk; learning to sing from listening to the greats like Ella Fitzgerald, Bonnie Raitt and Olivia Newton-John.

Training in song and dance from a young age, Myra grew up learning everything there is to know about the theatre. After pursuing a career in commercial dance and musical theatre, burlesque feels like coming home to her. A huge career highlight for Myra has been her recent work as assistant-producer, band coordinator, and chanteuse for Miss Maple Rose’s Whoop Dee Doo R***e.

A mixture of leather and lace, classic but edgy, and q***r as hell, Myra Magdalene will draw you in with her siren song and leave you wanting more.

Things have been SO BUSY at Sugar Showgirl HQ that we have barely had time to be on the socials!

So here's a little update:
We had our Showgirl round 2 auditions on the weekend and it was wonderful to see so many amazingly talented and genuinely lovely people want to be part of our little troupe - we are truly overwhelmed with gratitude.
This also made our decision to choose only one Showgirl to join the team an incredibly difficult one!

We thank each and every person who shared their gifts with us and wish everyone the absolute best in their performer journey moving forward.

We will announce our new Showgirl on the weekend - so keep your eyes peeled for the welcome post...

✨🚨SHOWGIRL AUDITION UPDATE!🚨✨

WOW!! What an incredible bunch of people that applied for our 5th Sugar Showgirl position! We are overwhelmed with the talent and the number of applicants. We had a very looong meeting last night to start making some decisions on who we would like to progress to the 2nd round of auditions.

It. Was. TOUGH!

Please know that we took many things into consideration and had lots of rich discussion on who we think would be the best fit for our troupe to continue to the next round in the studio. We wish we could have everyone that applied come to round two, but we know that would make the studio space really squishy, not give everyone enough time in interviews and our decision even more difficult. It just would not be fair.

If you applied, please be on the lookout for an email from us soon (don't forget to check your spam folder) and we look forward to round 2!

✨✨TONIGHT!!✨✨ Ticket to the 1920s Opulence Burlesque night includes entry to the show and a complimentary glass of house wine - red, white or sparkling at Frolic Lane Our amazingly talented dancers 💃🏻 The Sugar Showgirls will be ready to greet you from 6pm when the doors to our Wine Bar open for this special night. The event will be held in our Wine Bar in a cocktail setting, Roving Solo shows to kick off at 7pm. There is no reserved seating/tables because of the layout of our bar. You are welcome to secure a table on arrival if you prefer, but keep in mind that you may need to move around the space for a better view and enjoyment of the shows 🪩 Drinks and food will be available for purchase.
