I’ve been off grid since losing my phone a couple of weeks ago, what better way to come back onto socials than to letting you all know I'm currently taking part in The May50K Challenge this May to raise funds for life-changing research into multiple sclerosis!

MS strikes young people in the prime of their lives. The average age of diagnosis is only 30yrs old & there is no known cure! One of my legendary mates, Sarah Chippindale has been battling MS for yonks, never complains, just keeps on keeping on no matter how much pain she bares. So some of us wedding vendor pals are baring just a smidge of pain with her to raise funds & awareness.

I’ve set a personal goal of hitting 100K this month - let’s go! Please make a donation (as little or as big as you like/can, it all helps) to support the challenge to leave MS where it belongs, f*cking behind us. Your donation will support research into the prevention, treatment & finding a cure for multiple sclerosis to change so many lives.

It’s been a *HOT MINUTE* since I introduced myself & I couldn’t help but notice there’s more than 2K of you following along nowadays — goodness gracious me!

I’m Leisha, hey, hi, hello! 👋

Wedding planner, coordinator, hype gal, logistics whiz, move-maker, vibe creator, non-conforming, rule-breaking, advocate of all things weird, wonderful, against the grain & you’ll often here me saying “well, why the f*ck not!

I’m no rebel by any means, but I will always be up for questioning the status quo, the “norm” (whatever the hell that is!), the belief that weddings should be something or another. I’m a huuuuuge advocate for an alternative approach, anything to tell YOUR love story & celebrate love however that looks for YOU & your lover/s - that’s what matters most!

I’ve been brewing this baby biz for just shy of 4years now & boy has it grown. I’ve shifted, navigated, adapted & settled on some exciting new perspectives… I am so gosh darn excited to share all of it with you over the coming months. 🎉

As the cheeky little (not so little, it’s huuuge) wedding season is fast approaching, there’s lots to get sorted.

The last minute run-around for all of your bits & pieces, phone calls from family & just keeping on top of your day to day lives.

In the lead up to your big day there is bound to be requests for a copy of your RUNSHEET or WEDDING DAY TIMELINE or EVENT ORDER or whatever it is your vendor, venue or overly helpful aunty wants to call it…

This can be daunting for those who aren’t wedding wired…

This day was perfectly imperfect, we battled some unforeseen circumstances & a bunch of hurdles to see this day through but to this day I have never forgotten the raw emotional & gratitude we shared to experience it all together.

Pure elegance, luxury and romance — a timeless wedding day for the ages.

With flowers soaring the rafters, speeches that filled the room with belly laughs and a dance floor that never stopped — it’d have to be one of my favourites to date.

These beautiful humans were an unstoppable team, making plans & stopping at nothing to keep each other & their families happy. Now Georgia & Ben have a gorgeous little bubba and another piece of the love puzzle to top it all off. How bloody special!

You may be thinking, “they’re seasoned pros, they got me!”

Well, the caterer, venue, DJ & photographer are like important crew members on a ship, but you need a captain to navigate & sail the ship in the right direction.

Let me explain… the caterer, venue, DJ & photographer will be busy executing the crucial job you hired them to do — feeding the guests, keeping the facilities clean & private, playing amazing music & taking the perfect snaps, but they won’t have the time to exclusively focus on YOU & make sure the ship is sailing in the right direction.

This is where a wedding coordinator comes in! Consider me your shoulder to cry on, your new BFF, bag holder, safety pin provider, timeline extraordinaire, dress-fixer-upper’er, ultimate hype & the list goes on!

Your families, & of course the friends that feel like family, know you better than anyone else - like, almost more than you know yourself!

Well, would you look at that!

IT’S MY 2ND BIRTHDAY!!

Just like last year I missed the boat - it was actually yesterday, but who’s counting, ha.

While the last 12months have not been my best, it has by no means been anything to shy away from either. And if I am really honest there were many parts of the year that I am super thankful to have experienced.

Like running a business ALL BY MYSELF.

March 2020 I totally threw caution to the wind, abandoned the full-time jobs & did something that benefited no one else but me. After the ‘year that was’, I landed my first OTD coordination gig & I’ve never looked back!

Looking for the bright side amongst the darkest clouds is just in built into my nature. And while it might not come naturally to us all, you can always find a reason to be THANKFUL.

Working alongside some ridiculously knowledgeable vendors was something I was thankful for ALL YEAR LONG.

The lifelong friends that I’ve made who not only keep me on my toes but support me at every weird & wonderful turn. .by.e 🤍

Meeting new & existing clients & playing a small part in so many amazing weddings! Now that is FRIGGEN SPECTACULAR.

And MOI, little old me. I’m thankful I have learnt from my mistakes, I’ve celebrated the wins(big & small), I continue to grow, adapt & differ from who I was yesterday. *pats herself on the back*

There is no ‘right’ time of day for your wedding to commence & conclude, but there are two crucial factors to guide your decision – the time of year & whether you will be outdoors.

Planning an early afternoon ceremony for your summer wedding to maximise the daylight sounds lovely, but the reality is likely to be far from it.

Standing in the summer heat from 2pm in your wedding attire is a guaranteed way to make everyone uncomfortable to the point of misery. Not to mention a lot of sweaty photos. Consider a 4pm start instead with a refreshing spritz on arrival. 🍹

Similarly, starting too late in the afternoon in the winter months may minimise the hours of daylight you have for drinks & photos. An early start & an early finish are a good option in winter if your location gets particularly cold too.

Be flexible according to the time of year & keep the guest experience front of mind.

One of the most exciting parts of planning your wedding is choosing your wedding rings. But with so many options, how do you know which to choose?

Do you want something simple? Something eye-catching? Something that will complement your engagement ring? Something that’s suitable for your work or lifestyle?

When you’re shopping for your wedding bands, you have two rings to find…duh. While you can choose a matching set, you should know that it’s actually much more common these days for you & your person to choose completely separate designs.

There’s no right or wrong choice here, you can choose a set or go with different styles — choose what’s right for you. But you should decide this early!

Do a little browsing & see what you’re drawn to the most. Once you know what sparks your interested, lock yourself in an appointment with a local jeweller/maker & you can start narrowing down your options even more until you find the perfect one!

I have long been a champion for the unique, & looooove it when couples express their true personalities by including personal & alternative ideals into their weddings.

I feel a lot of wedding stress is created because couples think they ‘should’ be doing this or that, rather than thinking about what their wedding says about their relationship & their years of marriage ahead.

I wanted to create a business where no one ever felt shy to speak up about what they envisaged, whether weird, wonderful or otherwise. I’m fact it’s encouraged — the crazier the better. 🤪

From the desire that a couples’ wedding is planned with a sense of mindfulness, intention & purpose, rather than from doing things just because they’ve seen it done that way at someone else’s wedding.

Friendships come & go like fast fashion in your early 20’s, as we all try on different versions of ourselves, deciding whom we want to be when we grow up.

Some friendships are good for a goon-sunrise-fuelled mischievous night out & not much else, fizzling out after a month or two.

However, a handful of friendships from this period of life are like a black designer winter coat — timeless, reliable & warm.

The flipside of this redefining of friendships is the depth of relationships that have stood the test of time, distance & disagreements. The bonds that form through adversity & shared experience craft a different kind of sisterhood/brotherhood, beyond convenience & proximity. They extend over years & miles, like a favourite old book you can open at any page & continue reading.

The numbers of the may be fewer, but friendships of this kind reach beyond plans for the weekend & espresso martinis…
