As reported by Australian Poker Schedule back in July, Tasmanian operators were given some good news, "Social Poker" tournaments can now be played again, up to $250 entry fee.
A ministerial direction from Honourable Nic Street, Member for Franklin (Tasmanian Liberals), to TLGC said that social poker would be exempt game from the stateโs gambling laws.
This is largely thanks to all of the operators and players in Tasmania that stood up and demanded they be listened to, they stuck together, they rallied, and they got a result in The Fight To Bring Back Pub Poker
The exciting news over the last few days is we have noticed Tasmanian operators announcing and indeed running events once again, including APL Poker Tasmania Bullets Poker League, Tasmanian Poker League.
This is fantastic news for Tasmanian players so please get out there and support your local operators and have a lot of fun, and good luck on the felt once again!
Stay tuned for further announcements to the Tasmanian operators socials tagged above, with a signature series already earmarked in the near future with a $50K GTD Main Event.
