HOLY MOLY!

Feeling a little nostalgic tonight ⏬️

🌸This is where it all started..... Nearly 2.5 years ago - my very first solo wedding and the catalyst for Grace & Flo.

🌸I had experience and now I actually had a beautiful couple who would entrust me enough to do their florals under my own name! The beautiful Brodie and Stephen hired me, and the rest is history.

🌸All I wanted that year was to book 5 weddings.
I walked away with about 7 by end of year.
The following year I doubled it.
And this year I've doubled it again.

Amongst renovating our house, raising babies and working part time, I have nurtured this passion and watched it evolve at every corner, with the support of the most epic tribe. Just under 6 weeks until we hit the ground running and kick off the next season - who's coming along for the ride? 🔥👏

Hey Flower Lovers 🌸🔥❤️

I'm Harly, the ringleader of the circus. You're probably here because like me, you like pretty things. 💁‍♀️ So I thought I'd share a little about myself and this amazing little business.

My tribe is small but it is fire 🔥 My husband is my number one supporter, you'll often see him doing deliveries, slinging buckets around or preparing vessels for me. My 3 and 5 year olds - Grace and Florence who spend endless hours in the studio keeping me company, along with my best friend turned florist who freelances on most of your wedding installs with me.

On my weekends you'll find me soaking up time with my family, sometimes by a fire with a platter, at a market, or a road trip somewhere random!

I'm a serial over thinker and perfectionist, who is made up of 90% coffee and sarcasm.

A maximalist at heart, OTT and vivid colour is where my passion lies. If it's a little weird and wonderful, I'm there.

I'm a big believer in community over competition. I want to see everyone win, and I think there's room for us all. If you've made it this far, thank you for coming to my TED talk. I appreciate all of the trust from our amazing couples thus far, from all the families who have allowed us to contribute to your celebrations of life, the birthdays, the babyshowers and everything in between.

It's a privledge, and we look forward to what the second half of 2024 has in store.

LET'S TALK BUDGETS!

Whether you've got a beefy budget, or one that could do with a little love - each couple share different priorities which dictate where they spend their money.
Some prioritise food, some flowers, some alcohol or a band.

On average Australians spend 6% and upwards of their budget on florals.

If you want to make your flowers go further, here are a few suggestions from us

🌸 Spend your money on what you'll see in photos.
This is generally the most heavily photographed day of your life. Go big on your wearables (bouquets) and arbour. Tone down the table flowers etc if required to choose.

🌸 Repurpose your florals - these arbour arrangements (pictured) were built into pots so as they could be taken inside and placed around the venue for the reception. Paying your florist a relocation fee is often more economical than having extra arrangements made for the reception.

🌸 Allow your florist to use foliage! Some couples request no foliage - and hey we love this look! But it's a lot more costly to fill a space with flowers than it is foliage.

🌸 Be flexible - we will always work to your brief within the constraints of nature, however picking out of season flowers can result in a higher cost. Trust your florist to do their job - less control leads to a better result in my experience!

I have no words - actually, I have lots 😅
To be able to attend a wedding of beautiful friends, to create magic for them, and THEN to receive these magic photos is the ultimate privledge.

I remember keeping myself up the night before this, wondering if Leash would be happy with her bouquets and if they'd be good enough for such special people *queue imposter syndrome*.... then seeing leashs tears as I handed her her bouquet... i knew I'd nailed it.

As florists we hold our breath after every event, wondering if the photographer will capture our colours and textures accurately, will they apply filters etc. Cindy has blown me away with her talent, her work is a true reflection of the subject, and she is an absolute wizard behind the lens. Holy Moly 🔥🔥
