Let’s talk centrepieces…
Florals are by far the most common but we’re seeing a swing towards “green” weddings that don’t have resource exhaustive natural florals.
Here are my top tips:
Double check the size of your table before deciding your centrepieces. Not all tables are the same size, generally round banquet tables seat up to 8 or 12, and long style tables can be anywhere from 90cm to 1.5m wide. Make sure you’re also aware of what food options your guests will have, as a low and large centrepiece doesn’t suit shared style or plastered food.
How do you want to fill the space? Tall centrepieces with a low ceiling marquee will make the space feel smaller and crowded, whereas a high ceiling bodes well to a taller centrepiece. The concept of a banquet table is to have guests able to chat and see each other, and centrepieces can, quite literally, stand in the way of that.
When you choose your colours, choose 3 or less. Your centrepiece doesn’t have to embody your entire colour scheme, but should tie the theme together as the main piece of decor.
Some venues will set these up for you, but most suppliers will do so anyway - if you can have pictures of what you want ready to go, then you can rest assured everything will be smooth.
