I haven't disappeared I promise!
The past three weeks have been a rollercoaster. My Grandma passed away and I've been down with bronchitis. In amongst the bad, I turned 26. I've been very lucky to be surrounded by beautiful women who made me feel so loved and cared for.
I can't wait to get back into things and welcome the warmer weather with some parties 🎉

When thinking about starting my own business, I've always wanted to offer environmentally friendly alternatives.
Since working with children for nearly four years as a babysitter, I've seen so many parents with one common problem: single use. From metal water bottles to silicone ziplock bags, there are so many new alternatives available now.
When researching other reusable party kits, something in me clicked and I just knew I needed to do my own.
The video below is why I'm starting this business. Watching it made me feel like I needed to do something, so this is it.

Welcome to Sustainable Celebrations! My name is Tegan and I've just purchased this business from the lovely Emma.
Although this business is relocating from Newcastle, I hope to continue to grow this beautiful business that Emma has done an amazing job with.
My partner is in the army, so this will be a "travelling business", relocating every three years until we settle back in Adelaide.
I've organised many small events for my local community (and won an award for it) and I can't wait to be able to do this ongoing.
I've worked with children for the past four years through babysitting and now working in a school.
I've always tried to do my part in making my own life as environmentally friendly as I can, making little switches throughout the years from cling wrap to paper towel, to remembering the shopping bags before I go to the shop!
I can't wait to start this venture and I hope I can do this beautiful business justice for Emma ❤️

It is with a little sadness and also excitement, that I let you know that today I have sold Sustainable Celebrations to a new owner!

I am hugely grateful for all the support from the community over the years. From the encouraging comments, to the repeat customers, it has meant the world to me.

With two young kids now, the time has come for me to pass this on to someone who has the time to continue to develop the business into all it can be.

I wish the new owner Tegan all the best on her endeavour! She will be based in Sydney, so I am afraid I don't know of any other party kits operating in Newcastle. However there is definitely scope for someone to start another one if anyone is keen!

Although we took a loooong break during COVID, we are now taking bookings again. It is so lovely to see the kits going out. If you have a party coming up and would like to avoid using disposable tableware, or just want an easy party set up, please get in touch. Don't forget we take care of the washing up for you, so after the party you can take a well earned rest.

We are now back open for business.

💦 In order to ensure the highest standards of cleaning - we are now including washing up as standard in all packages. Contactless pick up is also available.

🍽 Our Eco Party Package ($30) contains hire of plates, bowls, cups, and cutlery for 24 people, saving 144 single use items from landfill.

🎂 Our Ultimate Party Package ($50) contains hire of tableware as above, plus 4 x serving platters, 3 x serving bowls with lids, tablecloth, matching flag bunting and 'Happy Birthday' bunting. It is like a ready-made party in a box - without the waste.

We can now provide tableware for parties of up to 100 people. We have up to 50 in the Pastels sets and 50 in the Rainbow sets. When combined the form a lovely rainbow 🌈

How does it work?
📨 Message us to book your party date
💵 Pay a $20 refundable deposit to lock in your booking via Bank Transfer or PayPal
🚗Pick up your kit from Mayfield East the week prior to the party
🥳Have a great party
🚘Return the kit the week after the party. It can be returned clean and dry, or for the additional fee you can leave the washing up to us. Your deposit will be returned on return of the kit.

🍽Tableware includes plates (18.5cm diameter), bowls, cups, knife, fork and spoon).

We recently had an incredibly thoughtful mum donate a whole lot of left over items from her child's Unicorn party. So now, with any booking of our Unicorn Party Set (see the pink/yellow/blue plates pictured, or custom colours), you are welcome to check out the stash and use/borrow anything you like! 🦄🤩✨
Also, if you have any leftover themed party items taking up room at your place, I would be happy to take these off your hands and put them to good use (and reuse, and reuse! ♻️♻️♻️).
