My last arrangement for the year A formal linear base medium design… wow! I would never have imagined back in February 21 after enrolling into the full time CERT III in Floristry course that I would be able to create a design brief like this.. my personal opinion.. love the design brief, but not loving my outcome, can’t pick exactly what I’m not liking.. is it colour, texture, flower or foliage choice? Again can’t pinpoint exactly what I’m not liking, but anyway, looking forward to recreating this design in a different container and with different material choice.. would love your thoughts, the good or the bad.. it’s with your feedback that I can only improve xx

Today’s class was creating a “Vegetative Arrangement”.. This design is meant to present plants as they would grow in nature or the garden. The brief required a native arrangement, and here is my final result.. Very interesting to create and I enjoyed learning this different design concept..

A parallel vertical base medium (oasis and clear glass container used)design. Emphasis is on the elongated and vertical lines and negative space between the placement of materials. can you see this in your corporate foyer or reception area? Or perhaps you can see it in your home? I enjoyed this class 😊

My last official wiring class. A specialised wiring bouquet… Emphasis is not only the bouquet but the specialised wired prop/platform that the bouquet is attached to. If you have a modern and contemporary design style, this one might just be for you… remember this is an example of one design but can be modified to suit you..

One of my top favourite lessons of design this year. A floral gift hamper. Beautiful gift for a retirement, the foodie, the wine enthusiast, the new mum, the newly wedded couple, any celebratory occasion or even a pick me up gift for someone that needs a a little TLC. My design below includes some gifting for the gourmet foodie/wine lovers 😊😊. Material includes gorgeous vintage looking cappuccino coloured Ecuadorian roses, carnations, spray chrysanthemums, scabiosas, myrtle, leucadendrons, banksia, preserved hydrangea and blushing bride flowers. Foliage included eucalyptus gum, tetra nut and I curled and wired a couple of the leaves from the banksia to add a little interest. Lots of textures, forms (shapes) and materials 🥰🥰🥰

It’s been a crazy but fun few weeks at TAFE, and I haven’t been updating you all on my page! Some of the designs might be you and some may not, but it’s been really exciting learning new techniques, appreciating and learning to understand different design briefs and finally learning that literally everything that can be grown, seen growing, edible, and visualising landscapes can be created into a design that will take the eye of the beholder into complete awe! The following photos are all first time attempts and can only get better with patience and practice 🥰🥰

This next design is for a competition we are entering sponsored by the Wildflower association for CERT III Floristry students only. Requirements for this design must be either 100% Australian natives or 75% Australian with an allowance of 25% South African derived flowers. The submission must be a flower crown.. mine has been made of 100% Australian material. So in this one, you get to see the crown AND the face that is behind Fleur du Jour! Have a lovely week everyone, stay safe and be kind to one another xx
UPDATE: I have just been doing some research and the pin cushion flowers (the large ones) are South African! Oh well, definitely out of the 100% Australian floral category now 🙁🙁

Hello my beautiful flower lovers! Here’s a question for you 😊 what is your favourite flower and why do you love it? Does it have a significant meaning to you? Does it represent something or someone? Does it bring back a memory for you? I’d love to hear your thoughts and responses…I’m always thinking and creating designs in my head but a little more inspiration always helps.. Believe it or not, every creation I have made this year has had a memory, a dedication or a particular person in mind… hugs Kerry xx
