THE D-FLOOR 🧡 I have many musings about weddings and dancing 🕺 here’s a sprinkling…
1. D-floor costume / footwear changes are very much IN - be comfy = dance more!
2. If you and your people aren’t into dancing, that’s OK, let your DJ know so they can cater their set to that energy ✨
3. There isn’t enough slow dancing at weddings!!!❤️‍🔥
4. Group dances (Macarena, nutbush, time-warp, YMCA etc) can be cheesy sure, but are a great way to have FUN and connect with your guests 🌈
5. AMBIENCE IS EVERYTHING - venues graciously turn down the lights please, and togs know how to use a flash!
6. When choosing your dance-floor inspo tunes, think of ALL your guests, make it eclectic - not just what you like 😜
7. In your invitations, ask your guests not to interrupt you on the d-floor when they’re going home (bore) how about a boogie before they go? Or a good old Irish exit 💃🏽
8. Did you know you can have come to your wedding and teach your people who to boot-scoot? It’s a total HOOT 🤠
9. Outdoor dance-floors may seem like a good idea, but the sound is always better indoors and it’s not weather dependent ☔️ if you’re doing outdoors, make sure there’s a marquee or covering for the DJ and their gear 🌞
10. The sound system is really important, ensure your venue or DJ has quality gear, and powerful enough to fill the space 🫶

LADS, playing the ‘rona roulette seems to be a big part of working in the entertainment industry 🤪. I’m full of the covid this week and it’s hit me like a tonne of sh*te, so please give my brain time to return to emails and writing (next week LBR 😉) Anyhoo, I’m grateful I have no weddings this weekend - so I can rest 😇 you have no idea how relieved I am about this, I never want to miss a wedding 😘

CHAN + LINDSAY 🖤 “Chans first impression while observing Lindsay’s profile was that he looked like a bit of a bad boy - his photo showed him standing next to his motorbike… right after being pulled over by the cops (Sorry Penelope 🤭) but when Chan met Lindsay in person, she realised he was a total gentleman, very polite and a little quiet”

Yesterday was World AIDS day ❤️ ya’ll think covid was f*cked - the AIDS epidemic meant my community lost their partners, friends and community in droves 😞. The heart warming part of it all is that during these awful times, the community was at its strongest - Caring, treating, protecting, educating and laughing their way through a really traumatic time. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some of those legends, who still advocate for people living with HIV. People like John Hall, Judy Frecker & Mel Williams selflessly continue to give their time and love to care for people living with HIV. Those were dark times and we should never forget them. In this photo we’re at the AIDS memorial garden in the old Fairfield infectious diseases hospital, which is now cared for my horticulture students 🍃

5 YEARS ❤️‍🔥 of merging hearts today, which also happens to be National Celebrants Day 💒
You get to see all the fun bits on here, but there’s so much work that goes on behind the scenes to make marriage magical ✨.
That work is also done on myself - exercise, meditation, therapy, healthy food, romance, rest and then some 🧘‍♀️ . I do all of this, so I can bring the best version of myself to your biggest day! I give up having a social life for this job, because I adore it. Weddings ARE my social life now 🎉.
So, to my loved ones who no longer get me on weekends, ILYSM 💖 thanks for understanding, support, and sharing me with the sweet humans I get to hitch every weekend!
Here’s to 5 more years of livin’, laughin’, lovin’, sweatin’ and hitchin’ 🌞💦🌈

Steven thought Anna was British (which definitely was NOT the case) Maybe he made her nervous… Anna was instantly attracted to Steven’s height and his luscious dark, curly hair.
