From working in a patisserie 3 days a week to hone my baking skills, creating my delicious custom creations for clients, wrangling three primary kids amongst the million other tasks I have to do each week, I rarely get a chance to try something new. So when a competition arises, it’s the chance for me to dig deep, let the creativity flow and try something I’ve been putting off for years. I’ve always wanted to make sugar flowers (apart from roses which I made many moons ago) but quite frankly, they take an age to make; so I started with these simple cosmos inspired flowers. This steam basket and bowl of long and short soup with was created for my parents lifelong friend. Featuring a choc mud steam basket and orange poppyseed noodle bowl with lychee jelly, it was the perfect dessert to complete a Chinese banquet luncheon
Hope everyone is having a roaring weekend. The brief for this number was “dinosaur and rainbow”, I think this was a nice balance of the two, adding some bright coloured scales to this awesome (with a custom made party hat of course😀)
