Good morning everyone. Hope you all had a wonderful long and relaxing weekend.

Apologising in advance. Please be advised Mortar & Pestle will be closed this weekend due to private catering.

On another note, Mortar & Pestle will have a stall at the Multicultural food festival at Forest Chase on Saturday 14th March 2020 from 11am to 6.30pm.

I will be selling Nasi Ayam set/combo with your choice of dishes from:

1. Ayam goreng (deep fried chicken)
2. Acar telur & tahu (egg and tofu cooked in chilli)
3. Sayur kacang (stir fry green beans in spices)
4. Bistik (beef slow cooked in soy sauce)

I will also have:

5. Roast beef gravy roll

There will be plenty of other food stalls on the day so please come and visit us in the city for your breakfast, lunch and dinner.

2. Mee siam kuah vegetarian $5 with chicken $6. Mee siam kuah is vermicelli noodles with a chilli sambal gravy served with fried tofu, boiled eggs with lemon wedges (pictures are provided as example only).

Pick ups are between 10am - 12pm. Please advice upon ordering mee siam kuah if its vegetarian or non vegetarian.

Hi all, as mentioned in my previous post. I'm trialling mid week menu just for this week to see how many interests i get. If i receive a lot of interests i will be looking at doing this on a permanent basis.

Mid week menu will be pick ups on Wednesday.

For this Wednesday menu i will be preparing nasi lemak (vegetarian and non vegetarian). Nasi lemak is rice cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaves and is generally served with omelette or boiled eggs, spicy sambal sauce, fried anchovies and slices of cucumbers. Peanuts will be put separately in case of allergies.

1. Nasi lemak vegetarian $5.00
2. Nasi lemak non vegetarian will come with crispy fried chicken $6.00

Pick ups are available anytime after 11am. After work pick up can also be accommodated, please let me know when putting your orders through.

For this weekends pickup meal i will have the following for those who would like to put an order in:

1. Nasi minyak served with ayam kurma (rice cooked in fragrant ghee and served with chicken kurma) $8.00

2. Mee siam goreng sambal tauco sama telur goreng (vermicelli noodles cooked in sambal and soy bean paste topped with fried egg) $5.00
