Surprise!!

Posing as the door bitch and channeling my former hospitality-self, I stood patiently at the door of the brewery and waited for our guests to arrive. Once everyone had arrived, I was able to drop the wedding bombshell and then help my gorgeous couple tie the knot.

So true are these words and the journey of today’s couple is no exception to that rule. There has been many a memorable moment in the love story of Shenai & Jayden.

Everything from Bali Belly in a villa with one bathroom, to dropping the F bomb during a fairytale proposal - there are just too many stories to mention…. But all of these stories and memories had led them to today - the day they said ‘I do’

4 Seasons in one day

Wow! We had it all today. Sun, wind, rain….. so much rain. Not like torrential rain but enough rain to wreak havoc on today’s ceremony. As luck would have it, Mother Nature chose to open the heavens on the the ceremony of the coolest couple ever and not only did they take it in their stride, they did it with lots of laughs.
What an epically fun day. Tears, laughs and a bit of John Cena to boot. I’ll never forget today’s nuptials.

Plan B

So the weather was pretty crazy today, So crazy that it actually wasn’t safe to hold a ceremony under a pleather of century-old gum trees.
Buuuut, putting plan B into action was a breeze (yeah see what I did there? Dad pun fully intended) because it had been planned…… the golden rule of getting hitched is to ALWAYS have a plan B for your ceremony venue. And I have to admit…… plan B was gorgeous, so gorgeous. Today’s plan B venue will forever go down in the history books as one of the most intimate, heartfelt and simply beautiful ceremonies I’ve ever officiated.

Congratulations Lucy & Aaron. I am forever honoured to have been witness to your picture-perfect nuptials.

The last one.
The last ceremony for my 2023/2024 season and what a cracker it was.
Matt & Danni finally tied the knot amongst family and friends and then we all partied on into the night.

Today my head is weary but my heart is full. Congratulations Lovebirds. It was a bloody honour to marry 2 of my good mates. Xx

Dogs, a Bullant bite and a bottle of tequila - the perfect recipe for a perfect ceremony.
Stoney Creek Estate was the immaculate backdrop for today’s nuptials. There wasn’t a dry eye amongst us as the beautiful ring bearer ‘Zara’ was walked up the aisle and even the local Corellas cheered as Jordan & Rachel were declared husband and wife.

Congratulations you beautiful humans. I feel so honoured to have played a role in a chapter of your epic love story.

Life is about living in the moment yeah? Learning to acknowledge a precious moment-or ‘that moment’ as I like to refer to it. A magical moment in which you are blessed to be a part of.

This is one of those moments.
I was in the crowd - in that magical spot close to the front (you know, where it’s intimate standing room only but you’re just on the cusp of the ‘sardine section’). A group of 4 to 5 girls-maybe 14 or 15 years old, shuffle their way past me. Linked arm-in-arm, they try to weave their way through to get closer to the stage. They all just slide past me when they are met with resistance, not in a bad way but they’re now encroaching on the sardine section. They’ve entered that area of the crowd where every single person is fighting to keep, what they believe, is the best vantage spot.
As they’re met with this resistance, the girls start to panic - their eyes widening, looking around and unsure as to what to do in this unfamiliar environment. Their esteemed leader (she’s maybe 5 years older than them), fights to make eye contact with every single one of them and loudly states “You’re fine. You’re totally fine. Just stay here”. With those words I saw the girls instantly relax - learning that this resistance is just a part of the crazy energy in which they are now entangled.
I then look up to the stage to be back in the moment with my beloved Temper Trap when…….. I see her. One of the young girls being hoisted up onto someone’s shoulders, smack bang in the middle of the sardine section. Positioning herself, her facial expression says it all. She’s unsure. But then…..
I see her come to life. Beaming from ear to ear and just loving that very moment.
It was a beautiful thing to witness.

To the girl with the white bow in her hair. I witnessed what I can only imagine was your first, defining, life-changing, music festival memory. As a veteran music festival lover, I have one word for you. Welcome.
