Hi Piggys! Hope you’re all feeling live and loud. 🎶

We’ve had a bunch of people ask this year whether we’re doing Summer Sands 2026. The short answer is: not this summer.

We absolutely love Summer Sands and we love putting it on for you — but the truth is, it’s a huge job for our little team, and we need to take a breather this year. Most of the event is run by just the two of us. We do have a few awesome volunteers who jump in when they can (and we’re really grateful for them), but the bulk of the workload still sits with two people — and it’s a lot.

On the day alone, it’s:

build the stage

set up the PA

fencing

flags

bar

sound mix

then pull it all down and leave the place looking even better than when we arrived

Realistically, it’s enough work for four people, and quite often it’s just the two of us doing the lot.

Council has been fantastic in supporting the event and covering the bands, but that doesn’t cover our time, our costs, or the expense of bringing in extra hands to help.

So Summer Sands is having a rest in 2026. We might do a full 180 and bring it back in 2027 — we’ll see how things look — but for this summer, we’d love you to get out and support the great local venues around Victor that are hosting live music and local talent.

And hey — make sure you check out Riding out the Bloom with Daryl Braithwaite in Goolwa this January. It’s a brilliant community event and well worth supporting.

🎶OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT – Riding Out the Bloom Concert🎶

The Goolwa Community Association is thrilled to officially announce the “Riding Out the Bloom” concert, featuring Daryl Braithwaite, to be held on Saturday, 17 January 2026 at the Goolwa Oval!

Gates open at 4:00pm, with performances by Old Town Road Dance Party (DJ Set) and Taylor Sheridan to warm up the crowd before Daryl takes the stage.

This exciting community event will be a celebration of music, resilience, and local spirit — and we’d love for everyone to be part of it! 💙 Thank you to everyone involved!

Local community clubs and sporting groups are invited to run bars and food stalls on the night, keeping funds raised directly within the community. Guests are welcome to bring their own chairs or picnic rugs and settle in for a great evening under the stars.

The Alexandrina Council is in support of this event, and we are currently working through the final approvals and permit conditions to ensure everything meets requirements.

All proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to the Goolwa Community Association to support future community run events and the launch of small community and business grants for those affected by the algae bloom.

Stay tuned for updates this will be a night to remember for Goolwa and our region! 🌊🎤

The official program has been launched for Winter Whale Fest 2025, which hits Victor Harbor in June. We're promised an event that is "bigger, bolder, and brimming with coastal magic" ...and you know what that means?

In case you missed it, Pirates Storm the Harbor is officially part of the Winter Whale Festivities, nestled in amongst science talks, First Nations art, tree planting on the Bluff, and the debut of the Kondoli Lantern Project.

And while we're not saying we're the only event on the program to feature a giant squid, but I don't know there are too many others.

We are currently working on a big project with a big lineup, with a even bigger deadline.......Somone isn't helping..... So if Jessica would just get of the chair so Laney Dog could get her work done it would be great!

Recently, I've had the nagging feeling that something has been overlooked. We booked a great venue, organised *four* amazing local bands, got the bar fully stocked, and even got posters printed.
..but we forgot to tell you about it!

Captain Hellfire and The Wretched Brethren, Storm The Crown, Shadow Monarchy, and Steal Capz are set to invade the Victor Harbor Town Hall, as we sail on an odyssey through the raw grit of grunge, the power of metal, the chaos of punk, and the swagger of pirate rock.
