Jika Jika Community Centre was excited to get into the spirit of NAIDOC last week with a series of activities supporting the theme Blak, Loud, Proud.
We were thrilled to have a visit from Mr NAIDOC, Christopher George and the formidable Aunty Rieo, convenor of Grandmothers Against Removals (GMAR).
We screened Charlie's Country for our monthly movie night, made solidarity jewelry, painted banners for the NAIDOC march, participated in awesome training on unpacking colonialism with Rob Patton of Counter Colonialism and joined in the NAIDOC march on Friday.
All sales from our gift range and upcycled Voice T-shirts during the week will be donated to GMAR.
