Some say the coins also represent thirteen words; Love, peace, commitment, trust, respect, joy, happiness, nurturing, caring, harmony, wholeness, harmony, and cooperation. The bride must then carry her bag of gold coins with her during the ceremony

In the Czech Republic, a small celebratory party is held by close female friends and family, during which a tree is planted in the bride’s garden, then decorated with coloured ribbons and eggshells. Modern interpretations now see couples planting a tree at their home, or a special location, following their marriage ceremony, to symbolise the putting down of roots, longevity and strengths in their marriage.
