We raised $3237.00 for Berry Street!!

Thanks so much to the staff at Berry Street for the support throughout this process and their enthusiasm for the event.

Big thanks also to all the bands (Mature Themes Dayzed The Bad Randys Skyscraper Stan Carpal Tunnel Band Josh McCombe band Brodie J Brümmer Hugh Montgomery) for their awesome sets and the Bergy Bandroom for being wonderful hosts.

The night was so fun and we can’t wait to do another one.

Skyscraper Stan Woodhouse is a songwriter lauded for his observational lyricism - a cocktail of wit and grit delivered in a versatile baritone.

As a touring musician based out of Central Victoria, Stan spends upwards of half the year on the road. His regional tours have taken him to every state and territory in Australia, from Katherine to Hobart. Originally classing himself as a country musician his earlier influences included pre-war blues, the Laurel Canyon songwriters, Nick Cave and Sam Cooke. Since arriving in Australia from New Zealand in 2009 The Drones, Peep Tempel and Paul Kelly among others have been added to the list.

We are so happy to have them playing as a stripped back duo ensemble for the Much Love to Berry Street fundraiser.

Tickets are hopping out the door so make sure you get yourself one early for Saturday 27th January at the Bergy Bandroom.

Formed in 2022, Melbourne/Naarm six-piece Mature Themes have quickly gained a reputation for a blistering, electric live show with their unique blend of 90s influenced psychedelia.

2023 saw the band release their first song as a unit, 'So Much Better Now' - a track exploring the overwhelming nature of information in our current day. No doubt that with a string of new releases on the horizon, Mature Themes are surely a band to watch out for in 2024 and we are so happy to have them on the lineup.

Unfortunately KILL BELL have had to pull out of the show on January 27th.

Go check out their stuff they're awesome.

Picking up their spot are The Bad Randys, now with an extra bad.

Based in Melbourne/Naarm, The Bad Bad Randys are a full-of-beans four-piece rock and roll band. Returning from a break that saw them play only 3 shows in 2023, songwriter Denzel has gotten the band back together with a eerily familiar lineup; musical genius Armando from BÊNG holding down the bass, guitar extraordinaire Nick from BENG and Mature Themes on guitar, and Melbourne’s angriest drummer and rock-dog of the year Chloe from S***K and Back Pocket smashing the tubs.

Fans of wild guitar tones, groovy rhythms and a healthy dose of the psychedelic will feel right at home. The Randys are back and they’re as bad as ever.

Dayzed is the Naarm-based studio recording project of Josh Prendergast. Blending indie rock, dream-pop and shoegaze, Dayzed creates a sun-kissed sonic palette that is formed through introspection and isolation.

Dayzed’s live show comes together as a tight knit five piece band, fusing subtle intricacies to create an energetic and captivating wall of sound.

In our first of many artist profiles leading up to the big day, we have Emotion Picture!!

Emotion Picture are a Melbourne based no frills grunge band. Australian-born, American-bred transplant Grace Mitchell & Melbourne’s own popular music figure Stive Collins assembled Emotion Picture in late September 2022, bringing onboard Brodie J Brümmer from Flyying Colours and Luke Woollett.

Each member of Emotion Picture has come from their own uniquely successful musical backgrounds to assemble what is a true fantasy draft of musicians.

If you like 90's era movie soundtracks, this band is perfect for you. They are not to be missed.

We are back in the Bergy Bandroom with another awesome lineup on Saturday January 27th, raising funds for Berry Street!!

Berry Street have provided services to children, young people and families for over 140 years, and today Berry Street is one of Australia’s largest independent family service organisations. They provide a diverse range of programs to around 35,000 people in Victoria each year. Their services include family violence services, foster care for kids who can’t live safely at home, trauma-informed education, mental health care and parenting/family services.

If you like all the different styles of rock, then this lineup is for you. We've got Psych, Indie, Noise, Grunge and Blues rock all covered, check out all the acts below.

Prepare to be shaken by the monster that is Dilemmas.

A swirling concoction of wailing guitars, driving bass, tumbling drums and dark/poetic vocals with a side of blood. I had the pleasure of catching them earlier in the year and can assure you they are not to be missed.

As soon as we had them in the front bar here at The Bergy Seltzer, we knew they were gonna be our favourites for a long time to come.

Taking influence from the repetitive grooves and sonic exploration of Krautrock and
Psychedelia, Dopplerhaus produce sets both hypnotic and unrelenting. The 5-piece find the balance between catchy riffs, driving bass lines and extended jams with just a touch of electronica for taste.

We get them back as much as we can and they will be closing out the live portion of the night transitioning us into the DJ's seamlessly.

Swyr (Patty Sawaya) and Tate Baker are keen to make you move on July 22 in the Bergy Bandroom. Expect disco tunes mixed in with classics, with plenty of Kylie!!

Playing during intermissions, you’ll find yourself rushing back to the dance floor after trying to grab a drink. They've played many a house party and club around town and both are stoked to be a part of it and raise much needed funds for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC).

ShenxDoma are closing out our night on Saturday July 22nd at the Bergy Bandroom!!

Obviously Shen (Biggsy) holds a special place at Much Love HQ for his efforts in the 2016 premiership but having him pop in to the Bergy after his Kiss FM sessions for a few cocktail jugs and to occasionally get behind our decks has been a pleasure.

Now alongside Doma they are both making their debut in the bandroom, so bring your trainers cause we are going dancing.

Punchy, melodic, techno is their go and after festival appearances at Piknic and Esoteric, plus plenty of parties around town we couldn't have picked a pair better than them.

Lostii is a q***r femme singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer originally hailing from Eora/Sydney now based in Naarm/Melbourne.

She brings dreamy trip-hop and psych flavoured offerings inspired by the likes of Radiohead, Mazzy Star, and Massive Attack with ethereal vocal harmonies, rich synth textures, and whimsical arrangements.

Add in the fact they are an absolute legend, Bergy regular and in bands such as The Maggie Pills and The Nicoteenagers. We can't think of a better person to open the night for us on July 22nd in the Bergy Bandroom

Much Love is back after a short hiatus on Saturday July 22nd, at the brand new Bergy Bandroom and we are ready to put on a serious party to raise money for the causes that need our help.

The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is the largest independent human rights organisation for people seeking asylum in Australia. The ASRC was founded on the simple principle that all people seeking asylum in Australia should have their human rights upheld and the opportunity to be a part of the cultural fabric of our community.

With so many fleeing persecution or dangerous situations around the world, organisations like the ASRC are so important to ensure that their transition to another country can be as smooth as possible.

Our parties and shows in the past have never failed to hit many genres and this lineup is no exception. We've got Trip-Hop, Garage/Noise rock, Psych Rock, House/Disco, UKG/Breakbeat and Techno all covered.

And for the cheap price of $25 online/$30 at the door, see it as your charitable donation for winter while you get to see some of the best talent the inner north has to offer.

It’s been great putting on the Thursday nights through this page and I can’t thank the Bergy, the artists and the punters enough that have supported me.

Im so pumped to be continuing to put shows on in a support role alongside my great mates as well. Thanks so much to The Bergy for the opportunities and space you’ve given me and for the undeniably great future we all have ahead of us.

Much Love will be back in 2023 with a sole focus of raising money for great causes and having a great time while we do it.
