In Focus Media came to life in 2017, driven by my passion for capturing the moments that become memories for couples and families. I will work closely with you to learn about your personality, the ‘must-have’ moments you want captur

ed on film and plan how the shoot will play out on the day so that all you have to do is relax and have fun! My names Alana and I love using video to capture and share the special moments of your life. When I think back, I was always supposed to create a career in video. At school, my camera was a natural extension of my arm – it was a pretty sure bet that you could find me snapping fun shots and videos so my friends and I could reminisce about our adventures. Fast forward a few years and life was filled with burning up at the dance floor at my friends’ weddings and sharing the joy of welcoming new little humans to the fold. I love nothing more than capturing everything from the big, page-turning moments to the little in-betweens that give life its sparkle. After my own wedding in heavenly Port Douglas, my husband and I settled into a relaxed life in Traralgon (Central Gippsland), kicking back with our cats, Kitty and Keanu, and golden retrievers, Buddy and Bella. In between clients, we love exploring our extended backyard of never-ending coastlines, criss-crossing hills and towns brimming with stories. I can’t wait to hear your stories of finding love , growing families – being able to bring these moments together into a film for you to share is the absolute best part of my job!

Often people tell me how awkward they are in front of the camera but gosh I don’t believe you!! Look at these guys so natural and we’re happy to let me guide them. I definitely love a more candid approach but when it comes to a couple shoot it’s important to have poses, ideas and a bit of a vision. My experience of being a wedding videographer helps with these kind of shoots ❤️

A few weeks ago, I had the honor of being part of a truly special surprise—a proposal! This couple had booked a photo session, but Jarrod had secretly planned to pop the question right at the start. He wanted this moment captured on film, so I created a special video for them to cherish forever. I love that I can capture photo and video for occasions like this.
The timing couldn’t have been more perfect, and to make it even more magical, we ended the shoot with the most epic sunset. After the proposal, we spent the rest of the evening capturing beautiful couple photos—it was so much fun!!
I absolutely love when people bring me their ideas, and I get to help bring their vision to life. 💍✨

This family invited me into their home to capture the beauty of their daily life — the little moments that feel ordinary now but will mean everything as the years pass. I asked this couple what they want to remember and we had a list to work with. From morning cuddles in bed, capturing their little girl dancing on her dads feet, to playing in the backyard. These sessions are all about freezing time and holding on to what it feels like to be in this season of life. After their session, they shared how happy they were to have these memories documented, and it made me so happy. These are the kinds of stories that make what I do so special — showing families the beauty in the chaos, the connection in the quiet moments, and the love in their everyday routines.
