The Ultimate Guide to your Wedding Invitation Wording

We’re sharing a line-by-line breakdown of your wedding invitation wording👇

Each line of your wedding invitation serves to formally invite your guests to celebrate your big day. 💕

💌 The Host Line
This opens your wedding invitation and honors the hosts who is typically the couple’s parents or the couple themselves.
💌 The Request Line
This line specifically asks your guests to attend the wedding. You can personalise each invitation to avoid any confusion to who, out of the household, is invited.
💌 The Couples Names
THIS IS ALL ABOUT YOU! Your names should be the centre of attention &
displayed in a different or larger font to everything else.
💌 The Date, Time & Location
It is imperative to let your guests know when & where they need to be present for. Written in full or numerical depends on the vibe your going for. If you want your guests to show up at 3pm for a 3.30 ceremony, you can say that. If you are having your ceremony and reception at the same venue, you don't need to say it twice. 'Reception to follow' is perfect.
💌 Additional Lines.
The Dress Code, RSVP deadline can be included on your main invitation card, or these details can be shared via wedding website or separate details cards with any additional information. Choose the method that best suits your celebration.

Are you unsure about the appropriate dress code for your wedding?

The chosen dress code can truly influence the atmosphere of the event.

Consider these suggestions for 'outfitting your guests'.

• Smart Casual 🌊
• Cocktail 🍸️
• Semi-Formal 👗
• Formal 💃
• Black Tie 🤵🏼

When deciding on one of these options, be mindful of the overall style and the venue of your ceremony/reception. If you're aiming for a more relaxed, bohemian or rustic feel in a countryside setting, then Formal or Black Tie might not align with that vibe.

I’ve noticed several posts online where attendees expressed frustration over a couple's request for a particular dress code or color scheme for their wedding. If you envision a specific aesthetic, I say embrace it.

Just keep in mind that it’s YOUR special day 🩷.

Meet the adorable cows Gladys, Dutton, and Dixie 🐮.

These lovebirds, Jess & Tom, chose the stunning Adams Peak Country Estate in the picturesque wine valley region to celebrate their special day with their loved ones. Their wedding had a chilled-out boho vibe with gorgeous flowers complementing the sunny surroundings.

As guests arrived, they were greeted by a charming sign. To beat the summer heat, fans with matching floral designs were provided as part of the day's service. As the sun went down, everyone headed to the barn for a night of festivities. A seating chart at the entrance made it a breeze for guests to find their spots.

Important things to remember when you are married or in a serious relationship:⁠
⁠
Don’t ever assume your partner feels loved.⁠
Date nights are a must.⁠
Doesn’t matter if you go out, or stay in.⁠
Talking openly about what you want to change in your relationship is important.⁠
Learn each others love language.⁠
We all don’t perceive love the same way.⁠
Go to bed mad sometimes.⁠
Don’t force a resolution.⁠
Sleeping on it does help.⁠
When you get into a fight, don’t just say “I’m sorry”. Say what you are sorry for, and how you will react differently next time.⁠
It will get boring sometimes.⁠
Every couple goes through the “boring” stage.⁠
It’s normal.⁠
It will fade.⁠
This is the time in your relationship you will have to put the most effort in.⁠
Some days you will have to pull more weight than your partner, and vice versa.⁠
It’s important to check in on each other’s mental health.⁠
It’s okay to go to couples counselling.⁠
It helps.⁠
It doesn’t mean you two are ending, or failing.⁠
Talk about money.⁠
Talk about your financial goals.⁠
Let your partner know what you expect from them, and vice versa.⁠
Turn off the phones an hour before bedtime and just talk to each other.⁠
Ask questions like⁠
“What do you need to see more of from me?”⁠
“How can we understand each other better?”⁠
And most importantly, be kind to each other.⁠
Love each other.⁠
Fight for each other.⁠
Remember, love is never easy, and it’s one hell of a ride.⁠
