Eight years ago today, our hearts in our mouths, with a slight undertone of hysteria and all fingers and toes crossed, we took over the reins of A Touch of Class Florist. Uprooting it from its previous home in the city and bringing it in to our little studio.. it felt so risky changing location as well as ownership all in one fell swoop, and it’s definitely had a few rocky patches, but yet here we are eight years on! I’m so proud of this little family run business, with everyone who has poured love into it along the way, ensuring that our guardianship of this long standing Perth business remains successful. I am grateful for every day I get to open up my studio and deliver messages of love and well wishes for all of my fabulous customers, many of whom have been with me all the way along the journey. I’m so thankful for the flexibility it allowed when raising our small children (not so small anymore!!) and for letting me balance out my days whilst fulfilling my creativity. It’s not for everyone but it’s still for me. Thank you everyone that has had a part in this, sending much love and gratitude. Emma ❤️

Already it’s almost February! Strangely enough, this one marks 30years since I took my first floristry job. I’m not really one for sharing, preferring to stay behind the scenes but it felt necessary to mark this milestone, even if it’s just for the memory bank! Floristry, I’ve always believed chose me, rather than the other way around. It has seen me through many changing times (several other jobs along the way but I always found my way back..) allowed me the flexibility to raise two beautiful girls, given me so many amazing friends (it really does draw in the most brilliant of souls and for that alone I am forever grateful) made me strong, resilient and taught me humility. All of life’s important milestones come through a florist’s hands.. we see births, celebrations, hope and joy, but also great sadness, loss and commiseration.. mostly what we see is love. Truly what could be better in your job? I’m glad it chose me and I’m so thankful to be able to spend my days helping people connect in such a beautiful way. Emma xx
