‘Being Australian, especially out here in the bush, really means being part of a strong community.’ 🇦🇺 This Australia Day, join Australia Day on the Station to celebrate the unique lifestyles of station communities across the NT.
We understand that for those living on remote stations it's not always possible to attend organised community events, but the Australia Day Council Northern Territory would love you to be part of their Australia Day.
To be part of this, share your own self-filmed video to be featured in Darwin's "The Festival of Us" celebrations.
Make sure to get in touch with Hannah this month to submit your story! For details, contact Hannah at [email protected] or 0417 370 488.

“Australia is probably the most accepting place for people with a disability and neurodiverse people.” 🌏💙This International Day of People with Disability, we’re proud to share the story of Daniel, the 2025 ACT Young Australian of the Year, whose incredible advocacy for the neurodiverse community inspires us all. His passion for inclusion and empowerment shows the strength of community and diversity in our country.
As we celebrate Australia Day and reflect on the International Day of People with Disability, let’s continue to champion acceptance and opportunity for all.

Australia Day is more than just a date—it’s a day that brings our nation together through tradition, culture and community. From the stirring notes of our national anthem to the formalities of the National Citizenship and Flag Raising Ceremony, Australia Day is a chance to honour our shared story. 🇦🇺
The day begins with a Welcome to Country, recognising the deep connection that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the land. It’s also a time when we proudly welcome our newest citizens in moving ceremonies across the country, reflecting the diversity and unity that make us who we are.

17 September 2024 is Australian Citizenship Day🌏 We celebrate the journey of individuals who have made Australia their home, like this proud Mongolian family who came here decades ago and built a life in Canberra.
From opening the first Mongolian restaurant in the capital to embracing Australian culture, becoming citizens is a symbol of belonging and community. 🇦🇺
In January, our national recipients will be announced in Canberra, and on Australia Day, they will participate in the National Citizenship and Flag Raising ceremony, where many more will officially become Australian citizens.

#AustralianCitizenship is an important common bond for all Australians. Citizenship ceremonies mark a key milestone for new Australian citizens to pledge their commitment to the country and its shared values.
This Australian Citizenship Day, we take a look back at historical citizenship ceremonies and reflect on the importance of #AustralianCitizenship as 2024 marks the 75th anniversary.
