A WEDDING DAY MOMENT – CORAL SEA BEACH FRAMES WITH TREES
This isn’t our typical wedding image. It’s a little dark (most of our photos are light and airy) … but Friday was an overcast day and the sun was setting. How this image came about: while I was walking down to the Coral Sea beach, and talking with the wedding couple, I noticed the outlook you see in this image. I thought that the trees framed the image nicely and added something different. I simply pointed out to Tanya and Dane what I was seeing, and asked them to walk there, stand in their red carpet pose and look at me. … and voila! A dramatic image is captured!

Wow! We (and Maya) won the People's Choice Award for Pretty Little Poser Model Magazine. Not a bad effort we must say when we weren't sure if we wanted to do any model photography. Our business plan is to exclusively specialize in weddings! But ... we had fun and created some images that people seem to like. Maybe we could be persuaded into taking more?!!

A WEDDING DAY MOMENT – WAITING FOR THE DRESS TO BE ZIPPED UP
There are so many different ways that we can capture the wedding dress being put on. For this image, we chose to have the bride simply hold her dress up before it was zipped up (by a bridesmaid). The last image was simply of the back of the dress before it was done up, but it is still a striking image. As we share these bride-alone wedding photos (which are taken before the Ceremony) can you picture how wonderful they would all look in a Wedding Album? What a wonderful series of images and treasures keepsake they will make!

A WEDDING DAY MOMENT – GETTING INTO THE DRESS
This is often an overlooked bride alone wedding photo. We don’t like to skip over special moments in the wedding day which is why we like to photograph the bride in her dress before her bridesmaids do it up. What do you think of this image? My honest appraisal is I’m a little undecided. I wanted the bride’s hair forward to show off her back and tattoo, but I think her hair would have added something extra to the image.

Here’s a simple and elegant photo of Mary Lou taken inside an apartment at the Peninsula Hotel Resort. Simple can always work when it’s executed well. Do you think we’ve pulled it off?

Mary Lou is lit with window light against a plain white wall. Our preference for these type of wedding photos is to always use natural light (whenever we can). We left this image in colour so that the flower bouquet stands out. The emphasis is still very much on Mary Lou with the flowers providing a small supporting role.

We had to show off our beautiful bride on the deck of a Peninsula apartment with stunning views of the Coral Sea. The turquoise coloured in the Whitsundays is always spectacular … and when you add a bride and a beautiful wedding dress we think you can’t go wrong! Here’s another stunning bride-alone image of Mary Lou! We’re slowly revealing more of her in each post.

We’re still utilizing the veil () in this image along with a mirror. It adds a nice reflection and adds more impact to the photography. At Cherish Photography we can’t walk past a mirror without using it! There was a large indoor plant in this image that you can see a hint of. I thought it was a little too much for the image so I partially shot past a wall in the apartment to blur the plant and lessen it's affect. It's now just visible enough to add to the image.

These Bride alone wedding photos are taken once hair and make-up are complete and the bride is in her wedding dress for the first time. I believe that it’s a wonderful time, as it allows the bride to gather her thoughts before she leaves for her wedding. It also allows me to capture some spectacular images that allow her to go “WOW” when she sees them, and possibly just as important, remember how stunning she looked, and be a springboard for all those feelings she was having! After these images are taken we typically involve her parents and bridesmaids.

In this wedding photo, I think you get a sense of Mary Lou’s peacefulness! It certainly has you intrigued as to what she might be thinking!

Meet Mary Lou. I’ve created some stunning Bride Alone wedding images of her. These are taken once hair and make-up are complete and the bride is in her wedding dress for the first time. I believe that it’s a wonderful time, as it allows the bride to gather her thoughts before she leaves for her wedding. It also allows me to capture some spectacular images that allow her to go “wow” when she sees them, remember how stunning she looked, and be a springboard for all those feelings she was having! After these images are taken we typically involve the her parents and bridesmaids.
This image is simply of Mary Lou adjusting her earrings. Granted I have taken the time to make it a little more special! It is my favourite image taken in this Bride Alone series. I will come back to it later and show you the much plainer version of it, so you guys can see the comparison.

You’ll also want to see the dress, it’s stunning! It was made by BeBe at Dress and Vail made by Two Sunflowers Bridal & Formal She’s super talented, helpful and makes stunning wedding dresses! We will show the full dress off in our next post! And how good does her hair look?!!! In our opinion, you can’t go past Blown Hair Airlie Beach. They are talented hairdressers and are ready on time!!! This is a huge plus for having the time to create these images on a wedding day!
