ngst 65 hectares of campus-like grounds with plenty of free parking, the AIS offers an insight into Australia’s sporting past and a window into its’ future. It is an award-winning tourist attraction, sporting precinct and a major provider of all-inclusive school & sports group stays. Home to the AIS Arena, Aquatic Centre, Visitor Centre, Shop, Tours & cafe. Tours of the AIS for the general public operate Monday to Friday 10:00am, 11:30am, 1:00pm and 2:30pm. The AIS Shop is open Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. The online AIS Shop remains open at all times. The AIS cafe is open:
Monday- Friday 8.30am- 3:30pm
Saturday and Sunday’s – 9:30am- 2pm

From 23 June to 3 August 2025, our iconic interactive exhibit will be temporarily closed for some thrilling upgrades. AIS Tours will still be available but won’t include a visit to Sportex during this time.

We have some exciting news! 🤩

Sportex, our leading sports exhibit, is undergoing exciting renovations. This includes new exhibits and upgrades to existing interactions.

As a result, parts of Sportex will be temporarily closed throughout 2025. However, visitors can still book an AIS Tour and enjoy one of Canberra’s most popular tourist attractions.
