We handle all related trades providing project management and advice throughout all aspects of the building process. This then allows the client to focus on their operational details. Designs & layouts are built on the clients ideas, to meet council requirements and ensuring that the work area complies with local health codes. Hiller and Associates have offices and a showroom at Maroochydore, (07 5443 7919) and Rockhampton (07 4921 1069) and also have representation in Brisbane (0437 779 919). No job is too big or small with involvement in projects covering Australia and New Zealand; one of our most recent projects being in Broome, Western Australia. Other projects have taken us to far North Queensland, South to Victoria and across the Tasman in Queenstown, New Zealand.

In order to remain true to initial vision for your space, early build investigating and in depth planning is crucial.

Project timeframes were managed against 2022 shipping delays through early equipment planning and prioritisation of custom built display cabs with long lead times.

Planning around refrigeration install allowed for minimum impact to shop structure, paved the way for early approvals and build commencement, to get clients open earlier than could normally be achieved.

Last month we ticked over 4 years since Giles Hohnen opened Sumi Open Kitchen, new to the coast at the time with a desire and clear vision to fulfil a growing hunger for Japanese food in a refined and modern way yet with traditional level of care and respect in method.⁣

The tenancy occupies a cozy 30sqm, so utilising the space effectively was at the forefront of every decision. ⁣The result was a highly functional design with a clean presentation inspired by Japanese minimalist sensibilities.⁣

Every centimetre of the space was considered to ensure all of the equipment and furnishing contributed to the workflow of the kitchen and the diner's experience while also maintaining aesthetics. It took a lot of customised specification and meticulous attention to execute, but we believe it was well worth the time and effort!

Sumi, meaning charcoal, is an integral part of the flavours and the overall dining experience. If you have had the pleasure of dining here, you will understand the difference that fire brings to the flavours of . ⁣

You appreciate it even more when you can watch and observe the process.⁣

Owner and head chef Giles Hohen believes inspiration comes from the shared knowledge, smiles and joy offered through the intimate dining experience.⁣ It was such a rewarding experience working with him to bring his vision of Japanese food and culture to the . ⁣

Noosa's newest restaurant venue Alba Noosa by Peter Kuruvita is here for us to enjoy.

We're thrilled to have been part of the journey alongside Altum Property Group, as and contractor.

Food service design largely involves consideration for the end-user of the space to ensure the professionals have the equipment required to do the best job possible. For us, a successful outcome is seeing people at the counters and the production line working efficiently.

Designing for the rework for the Alba build included really opening up the walls to the bar, and incorporating the outdoor pizza oven into the kitchen/café service area. This allowed for the counters to flow all the way through from the bar and introduce the atmosphere of the woodfire oven.

We loved working alongside talented H&G Designs and Studio Shibui who created the perfect mix of aesthetic and function.

Great appreciation is also extended to our team and builder, Heath Stower, for delivering this restaurant in a condensed timeframe.

With limited space available, a compact kitchenette was custom-designed for a full-service food offering to be established.

Whilst smaller than a traditional cafe kitchen, we were able to design so all necessary equipment and appliances could be installed.

One of the few tenancies on Noosa's beachfront, Season Restaurant Noosa's dining experience is one worth booking in. They've had 20 years of establishing their 'favourite restaurant' status on Hastings Street by many locals. Hiller team was proudly entrusted with completing the refurbishment and rebuild for this iconic restaurant.

Throughout the day, the space creates a light-filled backdrop for the perfect family brunch or ladies lunch. In the evening, it turns to an evocative dinner experience with the background music of soft waves from the Noosa Beach.

The ultimate Noosa dining experience wouldn't be complete without an impressive selection of wines, and what better way to showcase this selection than a custom-designed wine cellar that transitions seamlessly through the morning, midday and nighttime service.

The new layout includes a fully functional bar with adequate storage to display all spirit bottles in fashion along with glassware to compliment the signature beverages. Including the custom corner-glass Skope back bar fridge with special lighting.

Being mere footsteps from the ocean, all materials selected in the refurbishment were chosen on their ability to withstand the harsh environment and sun-kissed sandy patrons. To keep a relaxed dining feel, inspiration was taken from the surrounding Noosa styling and the soft lines unique to their tenancy.

Great pride was taken in transforming Season Restaurant in a way that brought new life to the space whilst maintaining a feeling of familiarity to local customers. It's always a pleasure establishing relationships with the venues that are championing the Sunshine Coast hospitality space.

Even with the tribulations faced in hospitality, our work has stretched from Tassie, Norfolk Island, country NSW, south west QLD and even remote Ngaanyatjarra WA, along with our local support - and we’re thankful.

To recreate this one at home, follow the recipe below: ⁣

🍹 30ml Blood Orange And Yuzu Gin Original Spirit Co.
🍹 15ml Strawberry Infused Aperol⁣
🍹 30ml Freshly Squeezed Mandarin Juice⁣
🍹 15ml Freshly Squeezed Blood Orange⁣
🍹 Soda Water⁣

Add the first four ingredients into a shaker with ice, strain into a glass, top with soda water and garnish. Enjoy!⁣

Wanting a sushi escape evoking an open, light oasis feel to enjoy fresh food in comfort by day, the interiors opt for light tones and timber trims.⁣

But to capitalise on the dual-service offering by night, the venue transforms into a space embued with neon lights and lanterns - vibrant colour adding evening fun to the dining experience.⁣
