It’s been just over seven, amazing and rewarding, years of Salty Plum Events!

This week, I have joined the Sydney- based event company Targeted Program Management Pty Ltd.

I am excited to work with a dynamic and leading edge event team, who deliver quality events around the country.

Janette and I have enjoyed a multi-dimensional working relationship for over a decade!

This means that Salty Plum Events will be going into hibernation at the end of this week.

Many thanks for all the support and love for my bespoke event management business in Darwin. It has been a pleasure to work with so many of you.

When you get to work with some amazing people! Can’t think of a better event to finish my event life in Darwin. It’s been a wild ride; so many personalities; so many experiences; and so many stories. It’s been a privilege.

Salty Plum Events is taking some well overdue long service leave to relax, refresh and recharge.

We are looking forward to using this time to explore the region near our new home and start to travel again.

Returning to the office mid January 2023.

We are still contactable via email, and they are reviewed regularly.

Should the matter be URGENT, please identify this in the email header OR feel free to call me direct.

Thank you for your understanding.

It’s been a while since posting a photo from the 80s.

One of my immense joys is still being in contact with some of the amazing women I grew up with in boarding school.

Not huge at being front and centre, even now an adult I rather be working behind the scenes.

Life has done a full circle and I get to spend quality time with one of my favourite people on a regular basis, (pictured far right).

So many feels in this one picture.

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. In the long run, we really do shape our own lives; and then together we shape the world around us. The process never ends until we die. ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

What do you drink when you don’t want to drink alcohol, yet it’s still a special occasion?

Believe me, it tastes like champagne, is made with real botanicals, low in sugar and calories, and best of all is non-alcoholic. You will get hooked on this delicious sparkling by

It was also the drink of choice for VIPs to toast the first commercial rocket launch by and in Nhulunbuy recently.

agrees that this sparkling is truly addictive.

As supporters of RSPCA Darwin Colin and I were guests at the shelter to have a look at some of the activities we have been able to fund through our fundraising and donations.

A well oiled machine, the shelter is in great shape, the animals in their care are loved and nurtured and the vet clinic facilities are a great initiative.

Salty Plum Events also sponsors the cat cubicle in the reception area, and we got some big cuddles from Winter, a deaf p***y cat with a huge purr. I really wanted to take her home.

If you are looking for a cause to support, RSPCA Darwin does so much good in the community when it comes to animal welfare it’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

$10 a week through a regular giving program on their website is the start of being a philanthropist and what a difference you will make over a year. Plus you will feel awesome.

Congratulations to Peter, Jodie, Taylah and the whole team for the great job they do and for an outstanding facility.

You have to love the community spirit of Darwin City retailers.

Yesterday, the headline act for the Ostojic Group’s 50th Anniversary celebration landed in Darwin, but the bags for one of the group was not on the flight from Melbourne.

Shandelle Cooke was due to be on stage at 8pm but with no frock, shoes, makeup, underwear she was a little frantic, to say the least.

This is when community in Darwin shines. A huge thank you to some superstar city retailers who went above and beyond to assist:

👗 - Suzie at Just Looking Boutique for a dress that still had the super trio of Shandelle, Beven Addinsall and Adrian looking coordinated and sharp. Shandelle is wearing Australian designed and made label, Quba

👠 and 💎 - Gella Catis at Stomp Shoes Darwin for shoes and jewellery

Vivienne at Sarah Lyn Lingerie & Fashion Boutique for under garments

Each retailer couldn’t have been more helpful at the end of the day, with everyone sighing relief.

An awesome night of entertainment was delivered from the stage and enjoyed by those who attended.

It was a massive week working between Cairns and Darwin.

Back in Darwin for the beginning of the week to undertake the AGM for the DCRA; attend a number of industry stakeholder meetings; attend the Icehouse Great Southern Land concert; meet with clients; and prepare for an exciting event at the end of June.

Home in Cairns for the weekend before returning Darwin to deliver two special events for some amazing people.

Today marks day one of officially working from my Cairns base.

A cool, rainy day is perfect to be inside and catching up on the past two weeks of backlog.

My assistants, Muji and Lanny, have settled in, both currently curled up and napping.

Until the end of the year, I will be travelling to Darwin to deliver events / projects that I am involved in and look forward to catching up with clients during those sojourns.

Here’s to a smashing Monday.

I don’t think I have to tell you how much I love supporting local, it is one of my core passions, personally and within my business.

Through my work with Darwin City Retailers Association Inc, I get to champion Go Local First.

Those of you who know me well, know I love to shop. I do have some favourites throughout Darwin, and in particular in the city.

A shout out to Anna Savvas (with me in the 📸). She is Chair of DCRA and a local retailer. Like all the retailers in the city, she is passionate about the city, business and it’s surrounds. She is also a great colleague. Always about the business, and some good laughs along the way.
