I’ve just put the tools down on wedding/elopement #4 for this week! 💃🏼 I can’t wait to share some beautiful images from all of them-each one so totally different to each other, I love it!

A throwback to a faux bouquet I created a little while ago for a secret remote location elopement-distance is no issue when creating for your special moment! Wether they be fresh, dried or silk-they can all look amazing! ✨

The most important part of every delivery-Preparation! Did you know my flowers travel over 1000kms by truck, laying flat in a box with no water?! Crazy right?! Not quite the glamorous road trip we all imagine 🫣 Believe it or not flowers are much hardier than most people think! A beautiful wedding boxed up for travel… Let’s break down the steps to get to this point ✨ -Consult; let’s discuss flower styles, types and quantities -Quote; I gather pricing info, break the order down into varieties, stem count and bunch counts, price everything out and send through -Invoice; once we’ve nutted out all the details, the final invoice is sent through -Order Blooms and sundries; order flowers from multiple suppliers, order vases, pots, wire etc -Do some last minute replacement orders for any blooms that are not available or not up to standard when the order is set for dispatch -Order arrives; pickup from the truck yard -Unpack blooms, strip, snip and hydrate! -Design as to order needs, snip again and hydrate -Ribbon Bouquets -Wrap, label and box up ready for travel -Label boxes Phew! What an ending to 2023! I still can’t quite believe it, I opened up my own retail space 🥂💃🏼 Whilst it’s always been a bit of a pipeline dream, at the start of 2023 it still wasn’t on the cards…yet in November the opportunity presented itself and I thought what the heck, let’s do it!! So in the space of a short 4 weeks, myself and my little support crew managed to flip the empty building into a shop and workshop space and open for December…what an absolute whirlwind!! Is it the right move? Who knows! Is it the right economy to open a shop? Hmmm that’s yet to be decided! Is it a great idea for our small town? Yes, I think so! Am I going to give it my best shot? Hell Yes! There’s a billion and one questions left unanswered but I am definitely going to give it a red hot go, because I’m certainly not going to let the what if’s hold me back. Looking forward to kicking off 2024 and a year of blooming good vibes 💃🏼🥂🌻

When a small business owner takes a break…. Man O man, it’s hard! Taking a break from your beloved business, is hard! Even on those days when you’re feeling burnt out, or exhausted or overwhelmed, the thought process of stepping away for a break is tricky stuff!! Will I let my customers down? Will I miss so&so’s birthday bloom order? How many emails do I need to follow up before I go? Will I need to still access emails while I’m away?! Susie down the road never takes a break, is it ok if I do?!
