Last wedding season was HOT and although we come equipped for every job— with sunscreen, spray bottles, and plenty of water— your flowers won’t last as long in the sun as we will!
For couples planning outdoor summer ceremonies, the heat can significantly impact the longevity of your flowers. Here’s some tips on how to plan for it and how we’ll assist on the day:
1. SHADE IS KEY- If possible, plan your location with shade in mind. By using canopies, arches or natural features like trees to protect the flowers from direct sun exposure, you’ll help extend the life of your blooms throughout the day
2. RESILIENT BLOOMS- As florists, we do our best to select sturdy-stemmed flowers suited to withstand the heat on those extra hot days while still ensuring a luxurious outcome is met
3. BUMP-IN TIMING- On the day, we’ll deliver and set up flowers as close to the ceremony time as possible to minimise their exposure to the heat. We’ll also do any last-minute water top-ups or sprays. For personal flowers like bouquets, buttonholes, and corsages, keep them in a cool, shaded place until it’s go time!

5 things I’m celebrating to end 2021 So here we are, 2021 coming to an end. Amongst a pandemic and within a busy business it’s easy to get caught up in the grind but something I’ve learnt in 2021 is how important it is to celebrate the small things. So along with an absolutely amazing year of weddings and events we’ve truely loved being a part of, here’s 5 things I’m celebrating from 2021: 1.
