36 years ago today my family and I landed on this sun burnt land, emigrating from England. I was 11, my sister 6, my Dad 30 and Mum 29 - they’d never been to Australia.

They decided on the move because my parents could see Australia would hold better opportunities for their family, plus my uncle lived here and raved about it!

Just after we arrived, England sank into a terrible recession, while we were starting a thriving new life.

Being 11, I didn’t really understand what was happening and just wanted to be back with my friends and family in the cold, and it took me much longer to acclimatize. Especially because of all the creepy crawlies that could kill us!

But I was the first one of the four of us to get my Australian passport, and travel back to England at the age of 18.

It was on this trip after I gorged on all the toffees and crisps and chocolate and vimto I could handle, that I couldn’t get in Aus, that I realized the amazing sacrifice my parents had made for me, and just how great Australia was.

England is a great country but Australia is a thousand times better, this is home for me.

Do I still get called a Pom? Yep I do, but I don’t care cause I’m so bloody proud to call this country my home.

Happy Aussie Day to us! 🇦🇺 🦘🕷️ 🦈 🐍 🐨 🏝️🇦🇺

Celebrating 47 laps around that big beautiful sun today!

Bloody hell I love my life ☀️

I don’t feel 47, I still feel as though I’m in my 20s.

If you are stuck in a job that you do not love, start thinking about a job you would love and start making plans to make that happen for yourself because this life goes so quickly and it’s not worth living any second of it not working towards goals that make you shine! Will it take hard work? Yep. But it’s totally worth it.

I’m feeling very grateful today, and thanking my lucky stars that I’m healthy and safe.

I’ve been thinking a lot these days about how lucky we are living where we live and being human is the lottery of where you’re born. If you live in a country like Australia you are one of the luckiest people on the planet, only 1 of about 24 million on a planet of 8 billion. Never forget that.

Clinton 💛 Bianca

This one was a super special one for me.

I met Bianca about 20 years ago when she started dating one of my besties brother’s mates, Clinton.

Straight away my mate, Cass, and Bianca became super close friends. We both stood beside Cass when she married her honey back in 2010.

Over the years, while Bianca and Clinton were busy building a life and a family of 6 together, marriage wasn’t really that important to them. But Bianca always wanted the same last name as her brood. So about about 6 weeks ago they decided to elope on their yearly family holiday with their mates and all their kids.

It was a really relaxed afternoon, with way more kids than adults. 7 adults vs 11 kids (and none of them were mine 😅).

We also created an official family certificate that all the kids signed officially making them the Munday Clan.

Congrats you two, I’m so happy I was able to make you both Mr and Mrs Munday, in the simplest most fun loving way.

It just goes to show, you really do not need all the bells and whistles, a nice backyard, some friends and a relaxed setting really can be a beautiful wedding.

Sarah + Lester married two months ago today on Sarah’s families’ 4th generation farm, and the land where Lester’s elders cared for the same land for thousands of years beforehand. ❤️💛🖤

Lester’s Pop welcomed us all onto his Bundjalung country as the two families were brought together in love. A truly special place for a truly awesome couple.

Today was such a vibe! Charlie & Faye eloped on the beach and I was the lucky celebrant who married them. ❤️💥

The spring season is now in full swing and I’m so bloody behind on posting many many great weddings.

Life keeps getting in the way of me and my Instagram. But I’m hoping to catch up over the next few weeks.

Less of an Insta-gram and more of a Later-gram, is that super lame now? 🤣 But really, who cares! Lotsa love and good vibes incoming.

It was pretty easy for these two, they had THE best wedding party with so much love and joy. A super fun day and night that will always be remembered. ❤️

Cheers to your love or jump for your joy? I’ve got both bases covered over here. 🥂🧞‍♀️

Not sure if anyone noticed, but today felt like the first day of spring, and I’m so pumped for the super busy season that’s before us with way less rain than last year. ☀️

The cheers and jump shots captured by the so-hot-right-now photo guy at the .plantationhouse a few weeks back. That was a super fun day. 🥳

Day 4: Meet one of my couples.

Tracey and Rod were born 8 days apart and grew up next door together. Little Tracey and little Rod would catch the bus to school together. They went off and had other lives, created their own families but they always stayed in touch.

A while ago, when they both found themselves alone they reconnected and found a love that had been laying dormant for over 40 decades.

A few weeks ago in a secret elopement right here in Ballina they tied the knot and started a new chapter together.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Abraham. ❤️❤️

WHO AM I?

I was born in the north of England in 1976. My parents emigrated to Australia during the bicentenary year - 1988.

We were accepted mainly because mum and dad both had trades Australia needed at the time, but also because there was an abundance of boys in mine and my sisters age group! 🤩

I studied TV Production at Charles Sturt University, my first TV job being at the Sydney Olympics kicking off a career in extreme sports, traveling the globe with Red Bull.

In 2008 I went back to Uni and continued studying screen writing at UTS in Sydney, I still need to write that blockbuster screenplay. 🤔

I lived in Sydney for 12 years before moving to the Northern Rivers in 2014, following my honey, and I began my celebranting career at the end of 2016.

I officially became a celebrant on the 4th July 2018 and I have never looked back. I love my job, and I recently celebrated 250 married couples!

I LOVE to write my couples ceremonies into their very own Rom Com one of a kind love story - we all know they get together in the end, but we love to follow along with their journey.

I also love walking my dog, watching the moon rise from the beach, long hugs, diving under waves, lychee martinis, twiggy sticks, smiling at strangers, hot fires on cold nights, sunsets with cold beers, anything with caramel in it, the colour pink, history, and daydreaming!

Today is the first day of the TCS Photo Challenge, the brain child of the wonderful - she’s one of my cele-buddies down in Melbourne and the TCS Local Leader for VIC!

Everyday we’ll be adding a new photo - today was WHO AM I? How did I go?

Coffee or Cocktail catch-up? If you’re looking for a celebrant, you’re probably following a heap of us on social media, trying to get an idea of who we are and how we’ll make your ceremony really fit who you are as a couple.

In my experience, the only way you can really work out if a celebrant is the best fit for your relationship personality is to either see them in action at a wedding or meet up either in person or over a phone, Zoom or Skype chat.

I reckon in person is best cause then I get to shout you your fave beverage, usually hot in the morning and cold in the afternoon, although as the days are getting cooler, a yummy afternoon hot choccy sounds pretty great too.

Send me an email and we can organize that ‘my shout’ catch-up.

Photo by during our recent catch-up (not only is she great at taking photos, she’s also a really really good celebrant)

Last November, I was lucky enough to be invited to a local celebrant catch-up. We were given flower crowns by and the gorgeous joined us and took some happy snaps along the way. It was such a fun day and I'm still thinking about it 5 months on.

If you didn't know, I'm the NSW Local Leader for the and we're holding a similar type of event at the Long Point Vineyard in Lake Cathie, Port Macquarie on April 30th and we'd love it if you could be there too.

How this one is different, is we're also including a mini-branding session and light lunch as part of the ticket price.

The only time I will stand between you during your ceremony is when you say your legal vows and ring exchange, the rest of the time I’ll be standing off to the side while you both hold one another. It works well cause it gives us all a chance to engage with your people and makes it way more fun! Photo captured by .co plan b wet weather venue

Signing during or after your ceremony? It's a question I often ask my couples in our initial chat. You are officially married as soon as I say the monitum and you both say your legal vows, so when I announce you as married at the end of your ceremony, whether you've signed the paperwork or not, you are married. The signing of the Official Marriage Certificate is just dotting the i's and crossing the t's and so we have something official to send to Births Deaths and Marriages.

I encourage my couples to sign after the ceremony so they can have a drink in hand and so their wedding party aren't waiting in the hot sun.

Here Stacey and Grant make it official as their is well underway.

21/03/2023

You'll often get asked if you're writing your own vows, and as much as writing killer vows really does make your wedding ceremony pop, there is another way. When my couples say they don't really want to write vows, like really don't want to, then I encourage them to write fun promises instead. This can include things that really annoys you about one another to. They can be a surprise or you can write them together.

Remember there are only 3 components we have to hit during your ceremony, the rest we make up. So if writing vows aint your thing, there are always other options!

Check out Stacey and Grant nailing their vows at their own last year. Beautifully captured by

What are the legal steps to marriage? If you’re just starting out on your marrying journey then the most important step you need to know right now, is the lodgement of the Notice of Intended Marriage (or what us celebrant peeps like to call the NOIM) .
