Just a friendly reminder that I’m here, I’m working, living and breaking your films right now. It’s a long but enjoyable process to relive your days and try to express how it felt to be there and participate with those feelings. The logistics of a wedding day is the hard part, connecting with your loved ones is easy, and it makes the whole day whirl past so quick.

I guess it’s my role to help you and your family reconnect with that feeling, appreciate all the hard work you put in, and indulge in your own loveliness for a while. Thank you to all my wonderful couples who chose me to be a part of your day, it genuinely means a lot that you let this bald gremlin follow you around with cameras all day. I’m so grateful. Love you all. I’ll be in touch soon. Xo

Just a glimpse of what we’ve been up to. Needed to end wedding season with a banger so my amazing wife Found in Earth - Deloraine Floristry put together a zero-pressure styled shoot, I did pretty much f**kall. But I did have a lot of fun with lighting this. Lit entirely by .lighting B7C and rhe .australia 30x tube. Thank you to .margeret.photography for your talent and dealing with our chaos.

Just kidding. But also I will try.

Just a reminder that there is a person behind Awkward Soul, it’s me, Ash. I try to put myself out there so people know what kind of an idiot will be there on their special day, but also a reminder that when you’re choosing someone to capture your day, you’re not hiring a camera, you’re hiring a person. Even “hiring” is not a great word. Participating is better.

I’m not going to be the kind of guy that shoots with a zoom lens on from way back, I’m gonna get amongst you and your loved ones, while being respectful of personal space. I don’t want it to feel like a stranger turning up on your day. I want to be on a first name basis with everyone. I will talk too much and tell bad jokes when I’m nervous but you’ll get used to it.

Bloody hell I’m doing it now. If you’ve read this far seriously have a drink on me.

Hopefully at the end of your day you feel like you’ve made a mate, not “hired a vendor.”

The painfully lovely Kalina & Sam & their adorable little family. Please turn up your volume and try to soak in Sam’s beautiful vows. Honestly, hearing someone speak completely from the heart this way is really moving. Thank you Kalina & Sam for having me here. What a dreamy day with the two of you. Full of belly laughs and tears and some sexual noises, resulting in more giggles. You guys rule.

Not only does she run a stunning florist, travel state-wide for wedding installs, but also seems to fit in time to start her own flower farm. Not to mention she’s a bad ass of a boss! We are so so grateful for the woman she is in each of our lives. She goes above and beyond for each of us! We love you Cazzy.
