Heading to see the football tonight? Why not pop into the The Elephant British Pub afterwards for some top retro tunes. Playing from 5pm-12ish, so come before or after the game. Cheap jugs all night including $20 Coopers Pale and $18 Hahn Superdry. Instead of that overpriced bar or pub come get cheap drinks and top tunes.

Why sit in a pub paying top dollar for beer and not hearing music you like when you can hear a wide mix of tunes you really love (never the same playlists, always changing) and have cheap drinks, and all still in the East End. Meals until 9pm too.

Huge pub crawl in town so I will be upstairs at The Elephant British Pub from 5pm-late tonight, playing a Cry Baby style set (but with loads of disco too). So if you fancy a dance, you can tonight at the Elly.
Also playing Cry Baby this Sat from 8pm, but outside in the Golf section. Something a bit different, so check it out.

Not overly surprised tbh, lineup was all over the shop, but not a great thing to happen as it historically has been one of the best festivals in Australia, and obvs links to Spin Off in Adelaide for those of us who can't take the time off or afford the huge expense of an interstate festival. Arcade Fire were amazing at the last BDO, so would have almost been worth it just for them. Hoping a few of the acts have tours anyway, which are always better as tour gigs are a lot longer and acts usually play more deep cuts.

The annual festival at the North Byron Parklands has pulled the plug on its 2024 edition.

Wednesdays the music is all indie (Australia's only weekly indie night), but if you miss the old Wednesdays when it was a mix of retro and indie, or you have loved my previous Saturdays at Cry Baby, then come to this. I don't get a chance to play Cry Baby on a 'non-school' night much, so don't miss it. Get in early as always as it will be at capacity.

Tonight, The Elephant British Pub. Sitting about is no fun without great tunes to go with it. Sick of paying to get in everywhere and paying top dollar for drinks at the Fringe, well free entry and plenty of cheap jug specials is the antidote. 5pm-12/1am (or 2am like last week)
SAT: I am back at Cry Baby. Last Sat was truly epic, and I would suspect this Sat will be too. 9pm-2am, and a mix of retro with some indie too to spice it up. Not to be missed!
WED: Every Wed is Australia's only weekly indie night, at Cry Baby no less. 10pm-2am and nothing but indie/alternative.

Coming up FRIDAY March 1st, a chance for me to play The Oxford Hotel style tunes at The Elephant British Pub. Upstairs with dancing all night from 8pm-12/1am. Drink specials until midnight, and best of all its FREE. Fringe can be expensive, but this is one event where you won't pay to enter or through the nose for drinks. Spread the word, and if it goes well we will do it again!

Also don't forget I am playing a mix of mainly retro with some indie at Cry Baby this Sat too, from 9pm-2am. Last week was one of the most epic nights in Cry Baby history, lets see if we can repeat that this Sat! Free entry as always, and get in before 9 to avoid the long lines.

FRIDAY: The Elephant British Pub, 5pm-12/1am. Retro tunes all night long. Whats better than sitting in a pub, sitting in one with top music.
SATURDAY: A rare opportunity to play largely what I want at Cry Baby, so expect loads of Cry Baby style retro with a dash of indie. Loads of dancing and its free, but suggest you get there around 9pm to avoid the infamous lineups.
WEDNESDAY: Australia's only weekly indie night is at Cry Baby, from 10pm-2am every Wed. Always free.

The lineup wasn't stellar, with most of the acts locals who have toured plenty of times before, and I have already seen The Kooks, who haven't done anything really great for a while tbh. Still its a blow for this countries musical landscape, and again a sign that all is not well in the economy or post Covid music scene.

On the plus side, every Wed at Cry Baby is nothing but a broad range of indie tunes, sure not as good as a festival of course, but a FREE way to get some indie tunes into you every week! 10pm-2am.

Groovin The Moo has cancelled its annual regional tour for 2024, two months before the festival was due to kick off in South Australia.

Yep, even I have to play some Xmas music one day a year, so pop along for a mixture of the cool and the cheesy Xmas music interspersed with my usual mix of retro aural gifts. And yes you will be Whamageddoned at some point, but I would be very surprised if you made it to Dec 22nd tbh.

TUES NIGHT is the biggest night in the Cry Baby calendar, it is Cry Baby Halloween, from 8pm so get in early (I am playing from 11pm so don't get too messed up before then!) Closes at 2am as always.
Wed the party continues at Cry Baby for my regular Wed night shenanigans. The most vibing place in Adelaide on a Wed. 10pm-2am
Friday it is time to listen to top tunes at The Elephant British Pub from 5pm-12/1am. Get out of that bar or pub and come to a place with music you really like. I get a lot more diverse too not having a dance floor to cater for.

After people falling over each other to get Paul McCartney tix, the lucky few clearly had a magical time, it is time to get back to The Elephant British Pub for a mixed bag of retro tunes I don't normally get to play out much. 5pm-12/1am, and its a nice night for it. Beer jug specials all night, plus some extra specials until 6pm. Friday night, get out of that bar/pub and come to somewhere playing music you really love.

Tomorrow night one of the greatest ever legends of popular music plays in Adelaide. If you are one of the lucky ones with tickets, I am insanely jealous, but know that Cry Baby is open for post concert partying from 10pm-2am, so come along for a dance. And of course everyone is welcome to dance from 10pm every Wednesday night for what is by a long shot Adelaide's most buzzing midweek night out.

Take 1 of "Get Back" in the legendary Rooftop Concert.
