Yesterday I helped a family say goodbye to a lovely senior lady. I chose this poem to close the service before her leaving her loved ones. It seemed so fitting

I have got to leave you,
Bid me farewell, my friends, my family.

I bow to you all and take my departure,
I have come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me

I want no tears in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free:

For to live in the hearts of those we love is not to die.

Reception was cancelled, however a group of stalwarts turned up
We got the knot tied and paperwork signed
And so far I am covid free

My wedding ceremony today was one with a difference. Thanks to covid. The reception was cancelled, but the couple wanted to tie the knot today. So i masked up in preparation 😷. Expecting to have the couple myself one witness and wondering where we would get the second witness ( haa the photographer). Well friends rallied. 10 turned up to witness the coupling from afar! Heartwarming to see the bonds of friendship and still keeping each other safe!
