When you buy a bouquet from us, we donate $5 to Black Dog Institute to support mental health research. We are happy to share that $390 from bouquet sales has been donated this quarter. This brings the total amount donated since we opened to $2287. Our goal is to reach $3000 by the end of year. We love that together through flowers, we are helping Black Dog Institute to improve the lives of people impacted by mental illness through ground-breaking research, education programs, new clinical treatments and online mental health tools. Plate up! This is one of my favourite ways to display a bouquet at home. Using a plate allows all the elements of the bouquet to be on show: the flowers, the spiralled stems and the balance of the bouquet. Do you have a favourite vessel you like to display your flowers in? Comment below 👇

What is the goop? When we send out wrapped bouquets, we keep the stems hydrated in case you are not home to receive them. The goop in the bag is water storage crystals which absorb water and swell, keeping the stems hydrated. It’s non-toxic and biodegradable and you can put it in your garden or on your pot plants. Once you bring your flowers inside, we recommend placing them in a vase with clean water as soon as possible as that is the best way to keep them fresh!

Flowers of my childhood Growing up in Taiwan, I spent every weekend playing in my grandparents’ garden filled with azaleas. So to play with the azaleas blooming now in my garden is so nostalgic, as azalea represents remembering your home with fondness or wishing to return to it. Happiness is to hold flowers in both hands. See what a Flower Session is about! This session took place today at the Perinatal Wellbeing Centre in Canberra for a group of 11 mums. After learning how to condition the flowers, and a demonstration on how to spiral the stems, they all made beautiful bouquets!

🍑🥬 This week’s bouquet is so delicious, filled with peach toned gerberas, kale flowers, green heath, wax flower, chrysanthemum and daphne. I love the whole process from designing the bouquet to delivery and even the cleanup!

Naming the bouquets Each week, after choosing the best flowers in season, stripping & conditioning, then transforming them into beautiful bouquets, I sit down with a cuppa and decide on a name. It’s such a fun part of the job. Sometimes I go with the colours or the vibe. This week, it’s the song that was playing while I was prepping the flowers: Penny Lane. Flowers this week are banksia, paper daisies and leucadendron. Wonder what inspiration next week’s flowers will bring!
