Eri (she/her), half of the mastermind behind Giddy Garden, is driven by a deep passion for supporting people on their self-discovery journey. This feels like the path she was given to contribute her unique gifts. She connects the dots, links people together, and creates welcoming, safe environments where growth and creativity can flourish in a playful, easeful way.

She brings a wealth of knowledge gained over many years spent in full-permission spaces of exploration, combined with her ongoing pursuit of learning and understanding herself and how to belong and feel connected in this world. Eri’s unique style of “medicine” comes to life through events that are both playful and infused with meaningful intention.

Her dream is to build a world where play is a natural part of adult life, connection is effortless, creativity is abundant, and growth is celebrated. Giddy Garden is her way of weaving together the facilitators, performers, collaborators, therapists, experiences, and community that make this vision a reality.

To get involved in Giddy Garden’s next event into self discovery you can buy tickets to Imagination workshop day through the link in our bio.

Being seen feels like a breath of fresh air after holding your breath for too long. It’s a sensation of relief, as though a heavy weight you didn’t even realise you were carrying suddenly lifts. There’s a warm, fuzzy feeling that flows through you when you are truly recognised, where you’re not just noticed but genuinely understood. It feels like someone is reaching out, not to fix or judge you, but simply to hold space for who you are in that moment.

In the presence of someone who sees you, there’s a sense of being safe, of being allowed to be fully yourself without having to hide, explain, or filter any part of who you are. It’s both grounding and freeing, like standing on solid ground, yet feeling lighter. There’s a deep comfort in knowing that you don’t have to pretend or mask your true self, that you’re valued and accepted as you are.

And perhaps most powerfully, being seen can create a profound sense of belonging. It’s the feeling of being embraced for both your strengths and your flaws, and knowing that in all your complexity, you are enough. We are so proud that OUTSPOKEN is creating a platform for people to be truly seen and supported.

Storytelling has been an integral part of human history, not just as a way to pass down knowledge, but as a means of healing and transformation. When we share our stories, we’re not simply recounting events, we’re processing emotions, making sense of our experiences, and often uncovering new layers of understanding or even healing old wounds. Storytelling can help us discover and express our voice, which can be incredibly powerful in carrying that confidence into everyday life.

Storytelling bridges the gaps between us, allowing us to see ourselves in others and find common ground, whether through shared struggles or shared delights. Each person stepping up on stage at OUTSPOKEN will be giving a gift to the audience, an invitation to reflect, to feel, and to heal. These stories will inspire, uplift, and remind us that we’re not alone in our experiences.

OUTSPOKEN is all about celebrating authenticity over perfection, inviting everyone to embrace their unique story without the pressure of getting it “just right.” We want to honor the beauty of slip-ups and the raw, real moments that make us imperfectly human.

Striving for perfection can often block our creative flow, leaving us stressed, stuck, and unable to express our truth. Let’s embrace imperfection together, allowing the storytellers to fully embody what is real and true on stage, and inviting the audience to interact with each other in a genuine way throughout the night.

The audience plays an equally vital role in creating the space at OUTSPOKEN as those sharing their stories on stage. Being witnessed by a compassionate community can be profoundly liberating and validating. The powerful collective energy of a supportive audience can amplify the experience for everyone involved.

There is truly an art to listening. We invite you to join us with an open heart, bringing presence, non-judgment, and holding space for the vulnerability you’ll witness. This kind of intentional listening grows empathy and connection, uniting everyone in the room into a close-knit, supportive community, turning us into a tribe for the night.

Opening up can feel like one of the scariest things to do but it can also be one of the most rewarding. We will be baring our hearts and souls as you witness the rawness and become privy to some things that may never have been uttered before. Opening up can bring magic and allows the barriers that keep us seperate from the connection we so crave to drop away. Opening up may leave us open to pain but it also leaves us open to love, belonging (as our true selves) and intimacy in all our relationships. We will all go through pain and joy in our lives, but opening up to the whole spectrum can create a more vibrant life that is more full than we could ever imagine. Closing off leaves us in a narrow corridor of emotions where we are fearful of pain but also on the other side of that coin can not experience joy.

On stage we will be opening up and sharing all the ups and downs of life in its full range of colours. Open up with us to life.

Opening up can feel terrifying, yet it’s one of the most deeply rewarding experiences. On this night, we’ll be baring our hearts and souls, inviting you to witness raw truths, some of which may have never been spoken aloud before. By opening up, we invite magic into our lives, allowing the walls that separate us from the deep connections we crave to melt away. Yes, opening up can expose us to pain, but it also opens the door to love, belonging, and true intimacy in all of our relationships.

Life is full of both joy and sorrow, and embracing the full spectrum allows for a richer, more vibrant existence. When we close ourselves off, we shrink our emotional world, guarding against pain but also limiting our capacity to feel joy.
On stage, we’ll be sharing it all, the highs, the lows, and everything in between. Join us in opening up to the full, colourful experience of life.

Stepping onto a stage to share something deeply personal and previously unspoken is an act of profound vulnerability. Vulnerability shows up when we take emotional risks and expose our inner selves. Many of us were raised to see it as a weakness, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s an immense act of courage, requiring us to lean into discomfort and openness.

“Vulnerability isn’t oversharing; it’s sharing with people who have earned the right to hear our stories and experiences.” - Brene Brown, Atlas of the Heart

If you’re joining us for this special event, you’ll be among those who have been handed the trust to witness these courageous stories from brave humans.

Are you ready for an unforgettable, raw journey at 𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗞𝗘𝗡 as Eri dives into the depths of a deeply personal and shame-laden story? Normally seen on stage in her bold, quirky, and s*xy burlesque performances, Eri now brings a different kind of vulnerability to the stage, shedding costumes and humour to reveal the raw realities beneath.

Through visceral storytelling, Eri will guide you through a tale of trauma and survival patterning, unraveling the mechanisms we create to endure and push down pain, only to find them erupting in ways that drive us to feel ashamed, as though we've failed ourselves and those that have got caught in the cross fire. Known for wearing her heart on her sleeve, Eri brings an embodied, heart-wrenching honesty to the stage, sharing her experience with profound openness and vulnerability.

Eri is one of the dreamers behind Giddy Garden and is dedicated to creating inclusive, vibrant spaces where authenticity thrives. She delves into the heart of who we are, weaving together stories about the intricate patterns of human psychology and relationships. Expect a story of tears, heartache, and cathartic truth as she sheds light on the burden of unspoken shame.

Ta**ra and Clowning both alike in fare Naarm where we lay our scene. Ritualistic dialectics, conjoined at the hip, separated at birth, reunited in adolescents and sufferers of the Westermarck effect as adults.

What could this all mean? Ezel Doruk and his mash up of ta***ic truths hidden under a veneer of charming tomfoolery hopes to question some of the answers.

Ezel will be performing at 𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗞𝗘𝗡 on Thursday 21st of November. See details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1094929452140440

During 𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗞𝗘𝗡, many of these taboo topics may or may not take center stage, from erotic pleasure, s*x, and s*xuality to mental health, death, trauma, addiction, body shame, privilege, and abortion. These subjects often trigger fear or discomfort because they force us to confront difficult realities like mortality and trauma. People tend to avoid them to shield themselves from emotional or psychological discomfort.

That’s why it’s incredibly courageous for these performers to step on stage and share these deeply personal stories with you. How fortunate you will be to witness these raw, beautiful moments unfold. The more we talk about these topics, the less taboo they become, and the more we can normalise them.

Phoebe Bond is a word nerd, a s*x-positive adventurer, and a devotee of clean armpits and organised spaces. So why does she keep diving headfirst into the sweaty, manky chaos of festival s*x?

Prepare to be dragged into Phoebe's tent. Scrabble for the zip if you like, but you won’t escape her unfiltered, claustrophobic, kaleidoscopic take on the spaces where desire, filth and wet wipes collide.

𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗞𝗘𝗡 will be a space for the unspoken to be expressed. See Phoebe here on Thursday 21st Nov at Caz Reitops Dirty Secrets. Buy tickets here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1094929452140440

08/11/2024

Tariro’s poetry is somatic, an eruptive invitation to enlist oneself to presence as the passageway into experiencing the sensorium of human and non human kinship. Tariro is the essence of an artist, her life work which includes creative workshop facilitation and executive arts leadership is tethered to re-villagising, unifying through difference and remaking a post humanist world by staying with the trouble.

Nominated for an Aria Music Award in 2021 with her collaboration with The Australian Art Orchestra for Best Jazz Album last year and won an APRA AMCOS award for Work of the Year: Electroacoustic/Sound Art, for Closed Beginnings.

After living in Barbados, an island in the Caribbean for a year. Tariro returned to Australia to co-direct Maxine Beneba Clarke’s theatrical production of The Hate Race which premiered at Malthouse Theatre in Melbourne in 2024 and was the associate director of Outer Urban Project’s production ‘The Audition’ which had a season at La Mama Theatre and toured at Bunjil Place and The Bowery Theatre. After nearly five years away from the stage as an actor Tariro was an actor in La Belle Epoque a Black Australian love story of a Congolese man reconciling his present life in Australia with his heritage in the heart of Africa where its children are exploited in the West's scramble for the DRC's natural resources and minerals premiering at Theatreworks.

Watch her performance unfold at 𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗞𝗘𝗡 on Thursday 21. See event for more details: https://www.facebook.com/events/1094929452140440

08/11/2024

Conversations about s*xual preferences, orientations, kinks, or anything that falls outside of mainstream s*xual norms are often deemed unacceptable in many social circles. These topics can be seen as too provocative, controversial, or even inappropriate to openly discuss. But at Giddy Garden, we completely disagree with this notion. We believe that exploring and talking about s*xuality in all its forms is not only natural but necessary for personal growth, connection, and liberation.

That’s why we’re excited to share that eroticized content will definitely be on the agenda for 𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗞𝗘𝗡. We’re not just comfortable with it – we’re delighted and titillated by the chance to open up these conversations in a playful, inclusive, and empowering way. Let’s embrace the full spectrum of human desire, curiosity, and intimacy.

Spoken word artist Andrew G Rose ( ) turns the stage into a bedroom, where q***r identity and s*xuality are flaunted without shame.

Andrew has previously performed on stage in the irreverent comedy Eat My Cake, a production by Scratch Arts, during Melbourne’s Midsumma and Southside Festivals. He now turns to poetry.

Andrew is a gay man reclaiming the power of his own narrative. With unflinching honesty and raw vulnerability, he delights in playing with his audiences. In these poems Andrew kicks down the privacy screen to expose our desire as very real.
